Human activities affecting Ganga: This Photograph shows workers from brick kilns digging up the deposited silt that the Ganges water brings through the temporary canals built along its banks during the high tide. The extraction of this silt is done during the low tide. The finest qualities of bricks are made from the mud extracted from the river Ganga. These brick kilns also create a huge number of employment.
