In india now a say use of electricity is increase frequently so it's prime requirements to fulfill it. I am here giving a suggestion of production of electricity by use of speed breaker. I know the amount of enery produce will be small but It is enough to light near about street lights ! We all are concentrating on increasing the generation capacity. This will lead to higher carbon emissions. DEMAND SIDE MANAGEMENT should be our priority. Wastage of electricity has to be stopped. Give incentives for use of higher efficiency motors by the industry. Also discourage the use of pumps in parallel for it is highly inefficient and consumes far higher energy for the same output.

If I was the Government of India i first change government office as energy efficient by replacing old type fans, light by 5 star fan,LED lights and keep solar panel on the top of office building this will inspire people next giving discount on tax in LED lights, energy efficient electronic items like 5 star fans,AC,LED tv,etc.. and giving awards for low energy consuming brands yearly. special discount this brands

I suggest to give a tax rebate of around 20000 per year to tax payers who would buy and install solar panels.I assume that there are many people who would install panels if they get a tax rebate, one for sure would be me doing that per year now if we go in market to buy panels worth 20000 rs we get around 400 watt panel that effectively produces 2 units per day assuming sun shines for 5 hours daily for around 200 days a year, this will produce 400 units of energy per year by a single tax payer

Increase the efficiency of water dams, by taking out soil deposited at the bottom so that dam can reserve more water and more amount of electricity can be generated. Secondly, encourage middle-class group to use LEDs and show benefit of how much money can be saved by switching to LED, and also make LED bulbs cheaper.Third point is, cutting down the street light brightness (cutting down alternate waves of electricity flow) - This helps to save enormous amt of energy between 12 AM to 4 / 5 AM

Solar Power has immense potential provided it gets taken to the masses thru its direct & indirect saving methods. Not only it offers massive generation of revenues / employment besides manufacturing activities for SME's with necessary Govt. incentives for all components production.Besides generating power also with Specific gadgets can go a long way is saving electricity viz - Portable / fixed solar chargers for Cell phones, Laptops, notepads etc thus freeing massive power for other purposes.

Whilst there is No Magic answer, however 2 things can go a long way - 1. Nuclear Energy & 2. Solar Energy & sustained Investment in R & D on plant fuel based / chemical based / Space based / water waves based / waste based Energy generation besides its delivery systems ( wooden poles can be replaced by moulded rubberized blocks). For eg. - PWR in its current form besides our own Thorium based reactors ought to be the way forward for energy generation. India needs Giga wts based reactors.
