The Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) is proposing a national programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The vision of Digital India is centred on three key areas, namely by providing digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, providing governance & services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens. This task seeks inputs to design a Logo for Digital India initiative. The last date of submission is 1st September 2014. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

Design has 4 parts, all colours engross the spirit of nationalism: 1. Main design part- “AND” logic gate (computer circuit) always requires both true inputs (Infrastructure and Governance, government is putting in) to give a true output (Digital empowerment of citizens). Merged ‘D’ and ‘I’ letters make the logo compact and appealing.
2. Digitalized English title 3. Hindi title 4. Tag line clearly defines the purpose and also explains the design.

My logo is based on the holistic vision on India as a completely digitized and powerful state. The idea behind the logo is to convey the idea of “e-levation” to the masses. It has been designed in a way, that it resembles the node network of a microchip; an industry of semiconductor wafer fabs that is gradually developing in the country. The nodes as an ensemble make a banyan tree.
