The District Administration Baghpat invites citizens, youth, innovators and institutions from across India on MyGov to share innovative and practical ideas to transform the Shri Parshurameshwar Pura Mahadev Mahashivratri Mela into a Zero Waste Mahotsav on theme “Bhakti Bhi, Prakriti Bhi”.

Building on the successful implementation of a Zero Waste model during Falguni Mahashivratri 2026 celebrations, this initiative aims to further strengthen sustainable practices and develop Baghpat as a model for green and responsible religious gatherings in India.

Aligned with the vision of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), Swachh Bharat and sustainable tourism, the initiative promotes environmentally responsible behaviour, reduction of waste, resource efficiency and community participation in large public events.

What kind of ideas are we looking for?
1. Participants are encouraged to submit practical, scalable and innovative ideas in areas such as:
a. Waste management and zero waste systems
b. Plastic-free alternatives for melas and religious events
c. Eco-friendly materials and green infrastructure
d. Awareness campaigns and behavioural change strategies
e. Volunteer and youth engagement models
f. Use of technology (apps, QR-based services, monitoring systems, etc.)
g. Sustainable tourism and visitor management

How to participate?
1. Submit your idea in maximum 200–300 words
2. Focus on solutions that can be practically implemented on ground
3. You may include examples, models or case references

What will happen to your ideas?
Selected ideas will be reviewed by the District Administration and considered for implementation during the Shravani Mahashivratri Mela scheduled in second week of August 2026. Selected contributions may also be recognised as part of a district-led innovation initiative and documented as good practices.

This is an opportunity to contribute to building a national model of sustainable religious events, promote environmental responsibility, and strengthen citizen participation in governance. Your ideas can help demonstrate how tradition, technology and sustainability can work together for a better future.

Respected sir, In govt and private sector we have the hrms system..In this if any one claims for any medical tests and if anyone incur expenditure for consultation the approving authority insists for total lab reports with receipts and for consultation fee also the approving authority insists for any prescription given by the Doctor Alongwith consultation fee receipt..One can consult the Doctor without any prescription and he may recommend old medicines..it is not necessary to give prescription every time..The people who are sitting in powers don't understand it. Thanks and regards

Good morning sir, Now many leaders delivee speech to the people who speak other than Hindi...My suggestion is ...in such a situation we see translorrs are there and they translate...but whether they translate correctly?..we don't know...now in the modern era we can have the head set which has been installed with Gemini AI.And in that head set we should attach camera also..If we implement this..AI will correctly translate it to regional language and it will analyse the views of spectators..where did they feel happy? and where did they feel awkward and where they had doubt?..AI will give bullet points upon that..it will be more useful when we connect with the people and understand the problem more accurately. thanks and regards D VINAYAGA MOORTHY

the Shri Parshurameshwar Pura Mahadev Temple Mahashivratri into a Zero Waste Mahotsav in Baghpat requires a blend of traditional values and modern sustainability practices. [1] Based on successful models and the "Bhakti Bhi, Prakriti Bhi" initiative, here are several practical ideas: ♻️ Waste Management & Infrastructure Segregated Waste Stations: Install clearly marked, color-coded bins throughout the mela area for wet (organic/food), dry (recyclable), and "puja waste" (flowers, leaves). [1, 2] Green Volunteer Sena: Mobilize youth volunteers (NCC, NSS) to guide devotees on proper waste disposal and maintain cleanliness in real-time. [1, 2] Flower Upcycling: Partner with local self-help groups to collect used flowers and convert them into value-added products like organic incense (agarbatti), compost, or natural colors. [1, 2] Compost On-Site: Establish a small-scale composting unit for organic kitchen and floral waste to be used as fertilizer for temple gardens. [1, 2]

Intro: Aligned with "Bhakti Bhi, Prakriti Bhi" and "Mission LiFE," this eco-friendly model focuses on: Regulation, Incentives, and Youth Power. Action Plan: Plastic Barrier: Set strict checkpoints at entry gates (TTD Alipiri model) to stop single-use plastics and provide low-cost SHG-made cloth bags. Eco-Sourcing: Ban plastic utensils in all bhandaras and stalls. Mandate sustainable alternatives like terracotta cups (Kulhads) and leaf plates. Bhakti Token: Devotees bringing dry waste to 'Smart Disposal Booths' earn "Bhakti Points" via QR scan, unlocking rewards like VIP darshan passes. Eco-Prahari: Deploy student volunteers (NCC/NSS) across micro-zones. They will use an app to send real-time alerts to sanitation staff for immediate cleaning. Conclusion: This blueprint unites citizen participation (Jan Bhagidari), tech, and youth energy. I firmly believe this will become an ideal National Benchmark for Sustainable Tourism across all mass religious gatherings in India"Heartfelt thanks"🙏
