Dindigul City is located in the central part of Tamil Nadu famous for its traditional lock manufacturing industry. The City has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities in India. The City covers an area of 14.01 sq.km and divided into 48 wards with the population of 2,07,225. Dindigul Municipal Corporation is preparing the Smart City Proposal that will provide smart solutions to the urban infrastructure issues. In order to prepare the Smart City Proposal, the citizens of Dindigul City and other citizens are requested to post their views & opinion, how the services being provided by Dindigul Corporation pertaining to city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, sanitation, Solid Waste Management, Storm Water Drainage, Housing, amenities related to recreational activities and Non-Motorized Transport, Security etc. It is essential to frame the Vision of Dindigul City and to get shortlisted in the Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

Let’s Join together in making Dindigul as a Smart City.

To make the city for smart we need all infrastructure facilities. the city has more resources available. city was located in best geographical areas. the people most wanted good livelihood opportunities. the most problem of the city water and sewerage. resource are identified and using some new method of technology for the all sources. in that city most wanted on employment opportunities,infrastructure facilities, good environmental, e governance needed.

Dindigul corporation needs immediate attention on watersupply as its inadequate to serve the existing and future population.though Dindigul has the status of Corporation it still in the state of municipality level. Staff inadequacy to handle the existing solid waste generated.Existing vacancy need to be filled. 1. water bodies need to be protected & restored 2. green cover need to be increased 3. Footpaths has to be provided 4. Existing park maintenance has to be increased, on

Planting Tree thrice than the population of the city. Making more parks and reconstructing the buildings. Improvement on roads and constructing new bridges. Bring IT firms into the city which will make better to improve. Cleaning the old tanks and constructing a new tank which will help the people to recover from the water problem.

1.Providing WiFi hotspot facility in dindigul town. 2.Ring road facility to access road connectivity 3.Tourism development with historical events and places. 4.Desilting the ayyankulam and developing the park with padestarian path 5.Opportunities for entrepreniuer development and employment. 6.Housing for the employees from outside. 7.Priority for health and sanitation along with providing additional human resources.

Well qualified city to become Smart. Highly connected via roads and tracks. The district which has most number of Tourist places than any district Tamil Nadu. Few from there, Palani Murugan temple(Costliest temple next to tripathi), Kodaikanal(Princess of Mountain) and Sirumalai.The city which is more famous for cusine too. Dindigul briyani is world's most famous. Fastest growing city which has so many industries and well cultivated farms.I must say Dindigul is the most eligible to become smart.

Dindigul now has been upgraded to Municipal Corporation. it has a long networking of water supply system and mostly dependant on vetting from vaigai river. Source improvement plays a major role in developing the water supply system sustainability. Sewerage system makes the city improve better
