Dindigul City is located in the central part of Tamil Nadu famous for its traditional lock manufacturing industry. The City has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities in India. The City covers an area of 14.01 sq.km and divided into 48 wards with the population of 2,07,225. Dindigul Municipal Corporation is preparing the Smart City Proposal that will provide smart solutions to the urban infrastructure issues. In order to prepare the Smart City Proposal, the citizens of Dindigul City and other citizens are requested to post their views & opinion, how the services being provided by Dindigul Corporation pertaining to city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, sanitation, Solid Waste Management, Storm Water Drainage, Housing, amenities related to recreational activities and Non-Motorized Transport, Security etc. It is essential to frame the Vision of Dindigul City and to get shortlisted in the Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

Let’s Join together in making Dindigul as a Smart City.

City shall focus on developing modern security system and for which develop centre of excellence for smart lock systems- train people and develop it again as security lock producing city. JV with Tobacco manufacturing company and coffee marketing company is essential. E-commerce in this business shall be tried with international JVs. City has seen outmigration. Hence, economic growth shall be primarily important. Water and sewage is going to be focal points.

1.glowing paints were used in road markings ,hence in night time travel is become easier ( image is attached) . 2.under ground system ( sub ways ) are needed. 3.local transportation have to be increased . 4.route map is provided at every junctions of the road. 5.construction wastes are utilised for other pavements

Focus should be towards providing continuous water supply and sewerage treatment. Additional focus need be given,on the solid waste management system in the city. Due consideration shall be given to the existing industries in dindigul to promote the city and industry in order to bring in investments for the existing industry and fir the industry to compete to international standards

There should be a new train should start from Dindigul to chennai/Bangaore. New muffessil busstand. last 20 years there is no increase in the number of town buses. There should be a night service buses in and around the city. A Zoo should be started in the footprint of Sirumalai. Rockfort should be improved lot to attract touristors. A Ring road that connects Karaikkudi road and all other bypass roads
