Taking serious note of the latest decision of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Chandigarh Administration has speed up the enforcement of ban imposed on the use of polythene carry bags/plastic bags/plates/cups and other allied material in Union Territory of Chandigarh. As per NGT directions there is also provision of imposing fine of Rs.5, 000/- "Environmental Compensation" to the erring person/entity per event, along with seizure of such stocks.

With the help of this discussion platform the Administration requests you to 'report the violations' (attach pictures or other details) regarding use of plastic carry bag/plate/cup and allied items on ww.mygov.in. Also, we would like to read your suggestions/ideas as well as practical/workable solutions for complete imposition of plastic (carry bag/cup/plate and allied items) ban in Chandigarh.

I think we as a citizen can't stop using suddenly carry bags of plastic. We can do that we try to minimize the use of carry bags in our daily life. for example if we have to go market for shopping , if we carry a bag made of jute/ cloth/ or other material than we carry our purchased items into it. If we would be successfully develop a habit of this kind, I am sure it will be a very grateful idea. This habit of oneself, shall be a motive for other citizens.

Sir as again you told in mann ki baat about the people who makes clay diyas and etc. My suggestion is that why dont government make it compulsory for tea vendors at railway Station to serve TEA only in clay cups (SIKORA) which will help in reducing plastics (disposal Glasses) use at railway station and also will give some financial help to the poor people who makes clay items. #pollutionfree #SwachBharat

So that there can be no corruption issue as well as people keeping in mind the carry bag charges they will prefer to carry a carry bag from their house.Most important aspect of my suggestion is to encourage the Boonkars of khadi clothes and also reduction of pollution. i have many suggestions with full analysis hehe. I hope you will find this suggestion useful. I am a student of BCA final year from Dayananda Sagar Institutions (Bangalore). I am a Big fan Of yours. You are my idol SIR.

Sir as you told earlier in mann ki baat during DIWALI that we should give encouragement to the people who makes KHADI clothes. So i have a suggestion for #ban #plasticCarryBags that why dont government make it compulsory for stores, malls, vendors etc to keep carry bags made up of Khadi clothes and put some fix charges for carry bag from government side.

These days everyone is aware of demerits of use of plastic bags but they use it because plastic bag is cheaper than paper bags . In markets after a survey it is noted that 2 plastic bag cost ₹25paise where as 1 paper bags cost ₹50paise Therefore the vendors and sellers will definitely go for a cheaper option so if paper bags are made more cheaper than polly bags we can cut down the use plastic bag as paper bag will b cheaper We can do it by subsedising paper bags

NGO's that deal in manufacturing/preparing of cloth/bio degradable carry bags must be encouraged 2)also promotions schemes can be implemented like any ngos that indulge in such activities should be given recognition by any authorities, provide refund of any entryfee if they enter into any exibition with their products and create half yearly exhibitions where cheap bio degradable BAGS are sold for comonpurposes 3) create supply chain mangement by linking...ragpickers>>>wastemgmtunits>>suchNGO
