Education is the only way to stop crime and violence in the society. No fear of law can stop a person for a very long time if he had decided to commit a crime. The only way is to incorporate the moral values in the children and youth itself. Moral education is far more necessary for a society to be happy and crime free rather than elementary education. I think in India we should focus more on Moral education rather than aping western education system.

yesterday watched a news about forgery by giving seeds of water caltrop imply those as ayrvedic medicine. so here if the victim already knew what water caltrop seeds looks like than he won't be a victim. my point is that in study syllabus agricultural stuff should be included and a lab-programme which deals with the physical look of plant be there .

What i think the reason for India still being a DEVELOPING country rather than a DEVELOPED country is the education system of our country. Marks are given more weightage than talent. This is where the thing goes wrong. From the very beginning we should have a system in place where every child can DARE to follow his/her dream. We need to understand very clearly that academics is just a part of education. So i would urge the policy makers to come up with a system which does justice with talent

One of the purposes of education is to create technically innovative and practical men and women. Japanese schools teach children above a certain age to clean class rooms and toilets alongside their teachers. We should emulate this. Japanese schools teach many crafts, but we cannot imitate. We should take the principle involved which is to impart hands-on practical aptitude. Making objects with mud, carpentry, cooking for both sexes, to repair a bicycle etc with increasing age.

Ethics play an important role in moulding individuals. Ethics and values can be incorporated in every subject. Another aspect is quality of work, cleanliness, neatness , presentation, colours , material science etc are to be part of teaching concepts in every field. The child should think out of the box and come up with new ideas of presentation and quality. My personal experience in teaching and interacting with school children shows that the child has to be given an avenue to showcase skill

Many people have lots of opinions on how Values or Moral education should be taught. But it can't happen with once a week period. Actually Ethics & Values can not be taught, they can be caught only or exhibited in teachers behavior. But only giving suggestions is not enough, so we are ready to work with like minded people & govt bodies for effective implementation of these Values in our New Education Policy. Waiting for response.. & feedback..

Values can be easily integrated in New text books so that everyone can easily link to values in all subjects. We, at SFAL Education(a nonprofit nongovt Initiative) call it DIVINE Discovery in education & can be taught without emphasis on one particular religion. And last but not the least, things like Yoga & Pranayama & other natural techniques including alternative medicine that help us live healthier & longer without the need of medicines should also be a part of our school education.

Education must teach a student moral, ethical & emotional values due to our coexistence with other living & non living beings. Education has to comprehend the spiritual aspect as well, which is the source of all learning. Such Value education should be an integral part of the entire system & not just confined to 1 or 2 moral class periods a week. We have developed a comprehensive methodology which can associate VALUES (social & spiritual) in almost every topic of science, maths & even languages.

we have educated youth around us who has knowledge of his subjects but he is almost illiterate if we talk about whether he knows basic laws to deal with police,he does not know how to douse the fire,he is not aware of investment schemes,he does not know how to swim (engineers drown in uttrakhand),he does not know what is First-Aid and not aware of symptoms of current diseases...A GRADUATE SHOULD HAVE ALL THIS just basic only. After this he will be an educated & responsible citizen.

1 ) If the concern authorities are directed to recruit qualified Art Teachers on primary & secondary school level as per G.R. (this step may increase employment opportunities to fine art students on a grand scale. Simultaneously this process will be helpful to increase admission level, which is an essential factor to be considered) 2 ) If posts of Art Education Officers are created on district level likewise District Education / Sport Officers.
