http://ndmindia.nic.in/NPDM-101209.pdf

. You never know when & where it will strike. We have to set up many teams of physically strong people with extensive training under a central command with reqd. mechinary. They should be placed in areas most vulnerable to disaster & under full alert. Immediate deployment of men & material within a few hrs. is the key. Rescuing people & treating the injured in nearby hospitals. Then rehabilitation of people by financial help, moral & psychological support to face the hard realities of life.

Sir, yesterday's Id celebration in our locality was worst in close to 5 years we are staying here. The sound levels were very high -- complain to the police & local MLA Amit Satam by ALM members were also not headed well. We are next to an a Madrasa in a plot which is reserved open park are & is surrounded by slum. DAILY 5 / 6 PRAYERS INITIATION ARE GETTING LOUDER EVERY DAY. We are not any religion specific -- THE SOUND POLLUTION LEVELS MUST NE ADHERED TO FOR SENIOR CITIZENS LIKE US.

Disaster cannot be avoided, only way to tackle with it is our reaction towards it. We have a strong strength of student... the learners... if we start training our students physically like any army man with skills like climbing, swimming, rescuing. most of the problems can be resolved .We thus will have a full generation ready in time of 10-15 years as an active disaster cell ready within the city. We do have disaster cell, but an immediate response will efficinetly reduce the effect of disaster

It is said: 'Prevention is better than cure', Indians should be prepared to face any disaster. It is not only the duty of government and forces, but the major responsibility lies on the shoulder of the citizens. At every level, school, college, corporate - respective management should take initiative to conduct mock drills/ seminars / workshops/ trainings etc familiarise the people with disaster-like situation.Unless thrown in practically challenging environment, its difficult to mould people.

Speed tracking of disaster origin by satellite information, can boost faster and effective respond to minimise damage. There must be system of tracking location of call ,being made by victims at disaster site, can do a lot. Because in remote areas, people don't have much resources in emergency, like school bus stuck at flood...

Disaster preparedness can only come when everyone has the knowledge to tackle the hazard and not panic helplessly. One of the best options is to include practical demonstrations of what damages it can cause, in what ways it can be tackled and what all kind of help can be offered to the victims
