During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

Many Foreigners in our country come as tourists for a holiday and buy contraband substance from Indian drug peddlers and it happens mostly in Goa and also some other hot tourist destinations. Govt should sell them the contraband substance at the airport only within permissible limits by this the sell of such contraband substances will be less through in Indian peddlers.

first of all ,remove the shop near the schools and colleges ,which are sell the cigrattes & some other drugs products , stop the advertisement of sodas and liquors, to give welfare in medias

People like as a hobby and its learn from higher society. Now a days international airport duty free shop selling 99% Liquor and cigarettes etc. Customs is not capable to collect complete action one side we are supplying liquor other side advice health. This is basic habit gradually changes in drugs. Try to stop duty free shop at Airport or other places as Gujarat strictly we are not living in European country.

Children should be made aware of the hazards of these drugs in schools & Colleges. Also, strict punishment to be given to drug peddlers.

There should some spiritual development programs in every school and colleges which can help the youngster to cope up with every difficulty without falling prey for any harmful things.

FIRST and foremost there should be same policy adopted allover India . Ban cheap liquor,Toddy,Hukka and Ghutka. Cigarettes and liquor to be made very costly beyond the reach of low income groups. Why becoz people in this group only are addicted more for so many reasons . No smoking zones are not manned properly, whoever is violating should be punished,along with fine. We talk about educating the public, but people who violate rules are mostly educated lot only. They enjoy breaking rules.

Advise all my fellow Indians to perform one day fasting which will help in improving Determination to do Things. That determination can be made use to leave Drugs Habbit.

we have to implement the basic chapters against drugs in education according to the level of education. from the beginning 1st class to at-least 12th information about drugs, cause and effects according to the level of class. 1st to 5th a normal level of information should be implemented. after it it should be of high level and severe effects of drugs should be discussed in higher class. and the last way why gov not banning the cigarettes, bidi etc.

There are 2 problems that need to be tackled 1. Help those already addicted 2. Prevent new people from getting addicted Educating the population about the adverse affects of drugs will essentially help in both of the above problems. The point needs to driven home and education is the best way. To ensure that younger population does not start using drugs in the first place, it is critical to introduce relevant education in schools from a very young age.
