During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

..CONTD...of the family/Parents to live or die4)Parents has to spend more time with their child(which is not happening nowadays). This is another big issue in our country. Need to counsel our parents.Influences 1)If Parents can build a foundation on their child NOT to do any wrong things , they cant be influenced. Again,Youngsters minds are fragile. They easily get influenced by media/friends/Cinema.2)We need to bring some strong LAWs to punish DRUGS traders and punish them in action....CONTD...

Before blaming youth, there should be tight regulations around drug paddlings and distributions, which is available in every cities and nick and corners of our cities knows as challs or jhuggis of our indian cities, every crime evolve from there...Actually the biggest problem in india is corruption ...if some one ( crime, police, narcotics) catches a drug paddler or a drug addict youth...10times the actual amount of that stuff is recovered along the stuff is taken as bribe and the convict is free

Respected Sir, Lower middle class and BPL people are worst affected through drug menace. Likely hazards on the society can be mitigated by Education and restraining to its sell. Heavy Increase in excise duty could be one option to discourage its demand. We cant issue a diktat to close all the liquor and tobacco vending shops because this sector creates millions of jobs. We have to exterminate it gradually through efficient measures.

Thank you sir for give me an opportunity to express my views.i personally think sir that in drug cases bollywood should come forward and stop promoting or showing a western oriented lifestyle that has drugs and alcohol.besides at local level i think its responsibility of people youth like us to stop ourself and our friends from it,because its under peer pressure most of the youth fall victim to it.
