During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

With respect, I want to say that increasing tax on drugs only can not stop this danger. If u increase the price , they will do some other criminal work to arrange the money like kidnapping, killing, looting etc. In my point of view it require national level awareness. Parents have to teach their children more about our culture, society, good and bad things etc.

TAG LINE- ACE MEN+DRUGS=MEN..ACE.... WE WERE TAUGHT IN JUNIOR CLASSES THAT DRUGS ARE BAD, THIS GOT ETCHED IN MINDS, EDUCATE YOUNGEST POSSIBLE.

with due respect I want to under your notice, Punjab is a big transits hub in India .so take necessity action for that .2 one I think any person who deal in drug trade that can't be success without political support because our police is so intelligence but police can't action against political person .so when ever we can't stop involvement of political person in local police station and in work of police we can't stop drugs in India .

Fight against drug can be a mass movement. Focus on prevention & tackle at village level. Identify 4-5 volunteers at every village willing to take charge. Constitute many mobile units of experts familiar with hazards of drug addiction: physical, psychological, social & economical. They will teach the volunteers on problems of drug addiction, who in turn will visit house to house & sensitize the grown-up children on drug menace & monitor periodically. Control/ reduce illegal drug entry to India.

Dear PM, In Coimbatore my friends have been asked by auto drivers if they need ganja. Most of college students stay in mansion and rented houses all are addicted to drugs.. Govt. should create rules to stop college students from staying outside ignoring hostel. Police should make regular checks in mansions.. I have myself witnessed some college students staying in mansion sell ganja..If not busted the dream of a India lead by youngsters will fade away because of drugs.

व्यक्तियो से परिवार बनता है. परिवारो से समाज. और समाजो से राष्ट्र बनता है. एक व्यक्ति शराब पीता है तो पूरा राष्ट्र के दुर्भाग्य का कारण बनता है. व्यक्ति तबाह होता है. परिवार तबाह होता है. समाज तबाह होता है. फिर राष्ट्र को कौन बचा सकता है. महिलाओ को तो छोड़ो छोटी बच्चियों को भी हवस का शिकार बनाया जाता है. शराब को सरकारी निर्माण घोषित कर शराब पर 500 प्रतिशत से अधिक टैक्स लगाना चाहिए प्राइवेट में बनने वाली शराब पर प्रतिबन्ध और फिर भी बनाने वाले पर देश द्रोह का मुकदमा लगना चाहिए....

Awareness campaign on monthly basis at college level for the harmful effects of drug ( Lecture/ visuals). Another important factor is the crucial responsibility of Censor board of films that the guidelines for sanctioning the films must be made clear and partiality for any being to be avoided . My point is that visual screening of Party of taking alcoholic drinks and drugs in the film by actors and actress must be ban which is now seen in most of films nowdays . Think Wellness.

Severe punishment should be meted out to the perpetrators. Informers shall be encouraged to pin point those who sell drugs. The drug rackets including Suppliers, sellers, buyers, new buyers etc has to be cracked using staff members and hostel wardens, cooks, classmates and lab technicians.

Drug addiction in India is gradually annihilating the entire social fabric, cultural values and the economy of the country. But drug menace is a multidimensional problem. We cannot isolate it. We have to get to the root cause to nip it in the bud. Unemployment, deteriorating cultural values-Thanks to Bollywood and most important - TRAITORS of India. These drug mafias have to be brought to justice. Illegal immigrants should be dealt with severely. They are mainly responsible for drug trafficking
