During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

Alcohol should be banned. Everyone knows usage of alcohols arouses violent behaviour. Why is this not getting banned ? Is it because of the profit margin from its sale or most of the law makers are themselves obsessed with it? With due respect I want to ask for ban on its production/sale and consumption.

Similar to banning sale of Lose cigarettes, BAN / STOP availability of liquor in small bottle packs / poly packs. Other intravenous drugs should also not be available in convenient packs. All drugs & liquor should be made available on producing some proof of identity like Aadhaar etc. Some Quota should be fixed for individual persons.

Youngsters, especially Class 11 to College goers start from innocent looking Hookah-> which leads to trying Cigarettes and few jump from Cigarettes to trying Ganja-> Hashish -> Magic mushroom-> LSD, Party drugs. "Ganja, Hashish and Magic Mushroom" must be seriously discouraged, as they are easy to get and its negative effects must be highlighted with scientific backing through "Poster" in every College and Online- Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp etc. Websites which support Ganja should be removed.
