During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

Te youths of our country are facing strain, stress and frustration from the family, friends,. The socety also changing very fast, every body is running for materials gain. No scope of recreational (physical) and sports activities. 40 years back when we were youths, we got NCC and adventure training, was attraction for developing mental ability. My suggestion more sports facilities are required at the village level..

The first place to target is the colleges in India especially the residential ones. I shall not name but know even prestigious universities where students complain of hectic schedule and other personal problems and take drugs as an escape route. It is sometimes very easy to carry liquor and ganjai into campus by bribing guards. There is also role of drugs mafia who influence the students to supply drugs to other students as well. Freedom in such residential colleges should be regulated.

Drug addicts never return back on their own except few. Consultation & medical help (without knowing to the patient) is to be provided only through their blood relatives or family members who are the ultimate victim. This can be done/identified through Village level program/panchayat president/member or anyway. Regular follow up would help. Cultural transformation vide mass media boost this. The major through Cinemas. Definitely/strongly Cinemas need to be controlled with iron hand.

We all are proud of our past but should we let our past become an enemy of future. Past and history are playing a disproportionately bigger role in public discourse vitiating the present and the future. As you symbolize hope for the future and govts, politics and governance are all about hope and future, please get India rid of the tyranny of the past so that we can look ahead at future with hope.

India is a victim of tyranny of a 2 letter word ‘vs’-religion vs religion, caste vs caste, state vs state, centre vs state, BJP vs Congress, rich vs poor, rural vs urban, English vs Hindi, left vs right and private vs public Will we ever get freedom from this tyranny and who will do that? Will you please free India from the tyranny of ‘VS’ and replace it by ‘AND’?

In INDIA, drugs are very common between younger as well as older. In order to strict banned on drugs, Govt. will take necessary action like banned on sales in retail as well as on manufacturing companies, buying, smoking on public place. If we banned on companies, the drug material should not be supplied in market and I think, in this way we can save our younger's.
