The Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC), U.T, Chandigarh has taken serious cognizance of the increasing pollution levels in the airs of the city. Pollution occurs in many forms including Air, Water, Soil & Noise pollution.

The CPCC has expressed serious concern over the contamination of the overall environment as the sources of pollution don't simply have a negative impact on the natural world, but also have a measurable effect on the health of human beings also.

In this direction, the Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee has decided to engage the citizens of the city for their invaluable suggestions/ideas/opinions/practical solutions to put a check on increasing levels of all types of pollution in Chandigarh.

The CPCC hereby appeals to the city residents to participate in huge number in order to equip the CPCC with more and more innovative and practical solutions/ideas (which are implementable) to curb the problems arising out of different kind of pollution.

Local authorities have a direct impact on the environment. By managing operations to save energy and water, reduce waste and minimise car travel, and by adopting green purchasing policies they can cut costs and set an example to other local organisations. Many councils have introduced environment management systems such as the Local Authority Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).

Current scenerio creating EPA (exhaust harmful particle content from vehicle) norm strict for vehicles will be best and simplest solution. Older vehicles which produces more harmful exhaust contents shall be restricted or upgraded by owners. Use of Hybrid technology in 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers and asking Automotive enterpreneurs to work towards will be upcoming solution and eventually converting all the current vehicles to electric vehicles as a long term plan.Solar field electric sources.

Respected Sir I have suggestion for a pollution control all government vehicles shall be switch to CNG this will first of all decrease the consumption of disel and petrol. Secondly planting tree on road side. There shall be rule of one car in one family if some one want to purchase another car no finance for it and a bond that his family will plant 10 trees and look after them personally for time they have that second car with them

Sir...pollution control is a big issue of our country.in Delhi odd even system is trailing..but the most important factor is our luxury house and offices where air conditioner is using 24 hr..these ac direct throw cfc to our environment and this cfc directly affects our ozone layer...so a rule should be pass for limiting the use of ac and time limit to it in high populated city...this have options of fan and cooler...this will be very helpful to control pollution...
