Soil Pollution:
1. Issue soil health cards and put check on use of fertilizers/pesticide/insecticide.
2. Focus on use of cow dung/manure/organic farming.
3. Prepare deserted soil/ grazing land for agriculture.
4. Land reforms may help to defragment the fragmented land.
5. Cooperative farming may be focused.
6. Differential farming may be used to maintain soil fertility.

1. More focus on ground-water recharge systems.
2. Barrier on open field boring/ wells.
3. Tight industrial policy on discharge of polluted water in natural stream.
4. Customized RO/Filter-plants in village/school/tehsil on PPP model or via funding through cooperatives/SHG.

Air Pollution:
1. Air purifiers can be installed where pollution is too high.
2. Fine spray from water cannons, so that air can get moisture and step down with pollutants.
3. Good industrial policy can put barrier on unchecked emission of pollutants by industries.
4. Odd even formula on civil vehicles can be tried.
5. Toll tax on heavy vehicles can be increased.
6. Pollution checking drive can be done on regular basis.
7. Stop vehicles who are in service for past 15 years.

ban diesel autorickshaws in city..and instead of these promote e-rickshaw..
a separate byepass should be made so that traffic inside the city may be reduced,
all long routes vehicle goes directly without entering Chandigarh city.

The smogwill become more deteriorating in years to come, While vehicle controlling can diminish the future pollution, emiited CO2 can be sequestered only by having a greenbelt around Chandigarh. This means many policy decisions like city limit and satellite towns outside green belt like in London, etc.Eventually Chandigarh will have to limit core city by green belt and have satellite towns around green belt. A map of proposed green belt around delhi is attached

People use Private transport as they can move hastle free from one place to other. So in order that they use Public Transport, we have to increase frequency and amount of Public Transport.
Also there should be a hub for bicycles near the station where local people can get a bicycle on rent so that they can use it when they travel.

Few suggestions to curb the pollution in Chandigarh.
State Transport system must be improved to commute between the places very nicely , efficiently with little trouble to commuters . If required small size vehicles , like 30 seater buses can be operated @ every half an hour .Car pooling must be encouraged . No Car with less than 2 persons should be allowded on roads .Diesel cars must be taxed heavily .CNG should be promoted as major fuel . Solar systems for houses must be made compulsary .

- Investment to increase underground water table though centrally funded and monitored projects which will make farming less dependent on seasonal rains.
- Central funding and monitoring to remove the sludge from river dams, canals and lakes of catchment areas to enhance the storage capacity which will help the farming community.
- Planning and Funding to increase the forest area to 25% - 30% of India's total land area which enables the better health.
- Fill all backlogs in Central & State.

My Opinion to control pollution:
1. Stop the use of "POLYTHENE".
2. Use the "Solar System" for electricity.
3. Aware people not to use "Cigarette".
