The Tumakuru city, Karnataka has been qualified under Government of India “Smart City Mission”. The second stage of city challenge is the preparation of “vision and proposal” for Tumakuru City. Hence, the current exercise is to prepare and submit the statement of vision along with the proposal to the Government of India through the active participation of citizens.

Tumakuru City makes an appeal with its citizens to formulate vision and give suggestions to prepare proposal to make it ‘Smart City’.

The Citizens are requested to formulate the vision, strategies of retrofit, redevelopment, green field and pan city as per Smart City Mission statement and Guidelines of Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.

Please send your valuable opinions, suggestions, the proposals if any and feedback latest by 4th December, 2015.

Sexual Harassment 2.17. During 2012, 100 cases of sexual harassment were reported in the State compared to 81 cases in 2011. There is an increase in the incidence of crime under this head, The four major cities contributed to 52 cases. Among cities, Bangalore City has registered 51 cases followed by Mangalore City 1 case remained free from crime under this head.

Tumakuru, located in the Indian state of Karnataka, is a rapidly flourishing industrial city officially renamed from ‘Tumkur’ to ‘Tumakuru’ in 2014.

Molestation 2.16. 2,978 cases were registered in the State under this head in 2012. The number of cases of molestation reported in the cities accounted for 13.03% of all such cases registered in the State during 2012. Such cases were high in Bangalore city 321 cases, followed by Mangalore City 29 cases, Mysore City 22 cases, Hubli Dharwad 16 cases.

The total population in Tumkur in 2021 -2025 will be 6,54,242 + 600,000. Thus, the likely population being 12 lakhs to 13 lakhs in Tumkur alone.

In 2012, 20,350 cases of Hurt were reported in the State, with the four major cities contributing to a total of 3703 cases. Bangalore city (3095), Mysore city (232), Mangalore City (199) & Hubli-Dharwad city (177), amounting to 18.20% of the total cases. Among the cities, Bangalore city registered a maximum of 3,095 cases followed by Mysore City with 232 cases, Mangalore City 199 Cases and Hubli- Dharwad with 177 cases.

cases (57.14%) in 2012, of these Bangalore city accounted for 36.16% of criminal breach of trust cases, 53.11% of cheating cases and 48.81% of counterfeiting cases.
