Sexual Harassment
2.17. During 2012, 100 cases of sexual
harassment were reported in the State
compared to 81 cases in 2011. There is
an increase in the incidence of crime
under this head, The four major cities
contributed to 52 cases. Among cities,
Bangalore City has registered 51 cases
followed by Mangalore City 1 case
remained free from crime under this head.

State under this head in 2012. The
number of cases of molestation reported in
the cities accounted for 13.03% of all such
cases registered in the State during 2012.
Such cases were high in Bangalore city
321 cases, followed by Mangalore City 29
cases, Mysore City 22 cases, Hubli
Dharwad 16 cases.

In 2012, 20,350 cases of Hurt were
reported in the State, with the four major
cities contributing to a total of 3703 cases.
Bangalore city (3095), Mysore city (232),
Mangalore City (199) & Hubli-Dharwad city
(177), amounting to 18.20% of the total
cases. Among the cities, Bangalore city
registered a maximum of 3,095 cases
followed by Mysore City with 232 cases,
Mangalore City 199 Cases and Hubli-
Dharwad with 177 cases.
