Shivamogga City Corporation, Shivamogga in Karnataka State has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities to participate in the Smart City Challenge Stage-2 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India. Shivamogga City is the head quarter of malnad region located on the western Ghats. Mainly Shivamogga City is known for its culture, education and commerce.

Shivamogga City Corporation Shivamogga has to submit a Smart City Proposal (SCP) to the Ministry of Urban Development, GOI which shall outline the consultations held with the city residents and other stakeholders unfolding the aspiration of people matched with the vision contained in the smart city proposal.

In order to make the smart city proposals more participatory and inclusive, Shivamogga City Corporation Shivamogga hereby invites smart livable and sustainable suggestions/ideas from citizens to make Shivamogga City as smart city.The resident are requested to post their suggestion pertaining to infrastructure services and smart solution such as water supply and recycling and conservation, energy management using smart grid, sanitation including solid waste management, efficient urban mobility, robust IT connectivity and digitization, safety and security of citizen particularly women elderly by use of CCTV surveillance, smart street lighting, public WiFi network, parking, development of non-motorized transport, sustainable environment, intelligent traffic management, energy efficient street lights, health and education services using IT enabled smart applications , innovative use of open spaces or any other feature the citizen would like to include as part of smart city vision.

The citizen are also requested to post their ideas of financing of the smart city plan and the revenue model to attract private public participation etc.

The last date to submit your comments is 31st October, 2015.

In my opinion, our cities r widely spread.more number of area is widely consumption for constructions.agriculture area is getting very low. So we have to plan for "VERTICAL CITY" Building taller apartments,shopping malls,stores etc. By this city get converged in small area.Large number of area ll be remained.that can be used for agriculture,widening roads,parks etc. By this maintenance of city will be minimized.......!!!!!

Please... plan for 'VERTICAL CITY'. by this we can converge largely spreader H-D in to smaller area. other left area we can use for parks, widening of roads,agriculture.....!!!

1)Sustainable self sufficient power supply 2)Preservation of the lakes(whichever are remaining) 3)Ensure quality check of roads footpaths and also their construction time 4)Proper harvesting of rain water 5)Improving civic education (banning is not a deterrent) 6)Proper research on the construction of speed breakers(current ones instead of stopping accidents cause back pains and late deliverance of emergency services).......!!!

1)Bring IT industrialization in the city, 2)Bring the international Airport 3)Ring road in the city to avoid traffic at major places 4)Better transportation facility 5)Foot path & pedestrian 6)High rise building permission 7)Give the permission for high trolley buildings, make parking place necessary in there basement & should be compulsory Land scape in building Plantation & owner ship.. 8)Do planting for each side of the road & give the ownership to beside house.....!!!

Priority for cleanliness through scientific and systematic management of garbage, complete network of underground drainage system with sewage treatment facility. Good all weather wide roads to be built to reduce the congestion and traffic jams. All the major roads to have separate lane for two wheelers/cyclists and footpath. Satellite markets at different locations. Improving the power and water supply. Twin city with complete wifi facility to be a part of digital India network.........!!!!

A smart city is one which provides a quality life along with sustainable environment to live in.To serve the purpose here are some smart solutions 1. E governance can be promoted to enhance the relation between the citizen n d government 2.provision of efficient street lights like LEDs 3.proper waste disposal n its treatment 4.intelligent traffic management system by constructing ring roads 5.smart parking 6.using renewable sources of green energy Build a smart city hence a smart nation..

To do our city as a smart city we should change our education type like our colleges must contain the tablet system and all files should be get updated such that we can easily access our files and can become better.it should be made a rule that the autos and etc should have a different path and etc.........!!!

1.Establishing Waste water treatment plant. 2.Establishing a recycle plants for e-waste. 3.safety of the people ;which also includes civilian military services. 4.promoting the use of cycles which is considered a stereotypical inferiority....
