Shivamogga City Corporation, Shivamogga in Karnataka State has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities to participate in the Smart City Challenge Stage-2 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India. Shivamogga City is the head quarter of malnad region located on the western Ghats. Mainly Shivamogga City is known for its culture, education and commerce.

Shivamogga City Corporation Shivamogga has to submit a Smart City Proposal (SCP) to the Ministry of Urban Development, GOI which shall outline the consultations held with the city residents and other stakeholders unfolding the aspiration of people matched with the vision contained in the smart city proposal.

In order to make the smart city proposals more participatory and inclusive, Shivamogga City Corporation Shivamogga hereby invites smart livable and sustainable suggestions/ideas from citizens to make Shivamogga City as smart city.The resident are requested to post their suggestion pertaining to infrastructure services and smart solution such as water supply and recycling and conservation, energy management using smart grid, sanitation including solid waste management, efficient urban mobility, robust IT connectivity and digitization, safety and security of citizen particularly women elderly by use of CCTV surveillance, smart street lighting, public WiFi network, parking, development of non-motorized transport, sustainable environment, intelligent traffic management, energy efficient street lights, health and education services using IT enabled smart applications , innovative use of open spaces or any other feature the citizen would like to include as part of smart city vision.

The citizen are also requested to post their ideas of financing of the smart city plan and the revenue model to attract private public participation etc.

The last date to submit your comments is 31st October, 2015.

A smart city is one which provides a quality life along with sustainable environment to live in.To serve the purpose here are some smart solutions 1. E governance can be promoted to enhance the relation between the citizen n d government 2.provision of efficient street lights like LEDs 3.proper waste disposal n its treatment 4.intelligent traffic management system by constructing ring roads 5.smart parking 6.using renewable sources of green energy Build a smart city hence a smart nation..

All the government building should be equipped with solar panels so that they can utilize solar at its max. Bring up CCTV cameras at as many places as possible. The citizens of #Shivamogga should have an effortless means of travelling on the city roads, good and sufficient water supply, clean roads and garbage dispensing, walk-able pedestrians footpaths with sufficient lighting. Introduce alternative energy sources such as Wind power,Solar power,Hydro power,etc. Proper Sanitation.....!!!

As of a common man these ideas come to everyone's mind- The roads should be constructed using good materials and also by seeing the environmental issues. Helpline facilities should be increased to help people socially ie ambulance,police etc. Licence for starting factories,industries should be permitted to help economic growth of our city.......!!!

The smart city plan becomes successful only when both people and govt both involve.My opinion is to first of all to prevent water leakages,improve roads,make a compulsion of using solar instead of electricity where ever possible.so that the saved electricity can be used for other purposes......!!

Problem: Emergency Services are not able to locate & reach location intime causing loss of precious lives.Multiple emergency numbers confuse the patient/effected people and there is no central service mechanism 2 assist the needy intime Solution: Develop A Nationwide Integrated Mobile Application for Emergency Services -Health -Fire -Security The app can send the GPS coordinates,type of service needed 2 the central server which can find out nearest Service vehicle& send #MyGov #SmartCity...

1.We need to make separate lanes for different vehicles in the roads and everyone should follow this. 2.Waste disposal is also a major problem. we should recycle this by making use of plastics in road construction,dumping organic wastes so it will become manure. 3.Banning of plastics and drinks like coke,Pepsi must be banned because they are not a healthy drinks because it has high ph content in it.#MyGov.....!!!!

The city of #Shivamogga requires to ensure basic infrastructure services to enable a decent quality of life in urban pockets and a clean and sustainable environment and adoption of smart solutions and providing more public spaces to poor. It may be implemented through areas based approach consisting of retrofitting, re-development, pan city initiatives. There is also need of hours to develop and adopt a model code for development of new cities Pan India for continuous pace of Smart Development..

First we need to make Shimoga as a clean city and then we can think about smart city.we need to insist many changes in many departments.they are 1.incorporating pollution control machines in all factories in shimoga 2.Developing organic gardening in the terrace of each and every house.By insisting this we can able to create disease free shimoga.It also helps in bringing rain and the house owners can use the products for their own purpose which will make their family healthy and wealthy.#MyGov

The traffic control should be made more efficient , the drainage system should be made more sustainable and eco friendly, the bus stands should be equipped with informatics systems, free WiFi should be provided to all extent.....!!!
