For making the city smart first of all we should make the people smart. NO OFFENSE TO ANY ONE . first thing need to change is mindset of people.secondly they should be taught how to use available resources because in my view 'smarter people make the smart city.'.

Along with the infrastructure development, transportation, basic services the city planning should also exclusively focus on the development of low line vulnerable area and basic amenities in these disaster prone areas.

More parking space. A few buildings in dense commercial and residential areas dedicated to parking with low parking rates should keep cars off the side of roads.

There are huge losses during power distribution in urban & rural areas and to some extent in small scale industrial sector. Generally these losses are attributed to power theft. However the losses due to load unbalancing during single phase power distribution are significant and are preventable. In case we could control power loss by achieving load balancing of single phase loads during distribution, huge amount of power can be saved. Automatic load balancing is possible.

More sports facilities. Football and cricket grounds that are well kept with proper lawns are needed.
