Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, in Karnataka State has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities to participate in the “Smart City” Challenge Stage-2 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.

Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation was constituted in the year 1962 by combining two cities separated by a distance of 20 kilometers. This was a unique experiment in urban development history. The area of this Corporation is 202.3sq.kms, spread over 45 revenue villages. The population of the city as per the 1991 Census was 7 lakhs. The present population is nearly more than 9.43 lakhs. Under the Government of India Act of 1850, the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal council was established on August 15, 1855.

In order to make hubbali-dharwad a smart city the following implementations should be done. 1)24 hours water facility. 2)Proper sanitation. 3)development of slum areas. 4)controlling pollution by proper ways. 5)implementing swach bharat mission as effectively as possible. 6)proper roads. 7)new good and better government hospitals. 8)education facilities should be given must and should. 9)to educate each and every one to develop good and moral behaviour.

By providing free wifi at public transports like at railway station we can make hubballi-dharwad a smart city. By keeping free and pure water in every colony. By increasing number of local public transports.

there should be an improved dustbin's i.e,electronic dustbins all over the city and we must go for use ofsolar energy

roads in hubli have become pathetic ..and are of biggest concern...city is not clean. ..matter of concern...no proper medical facility...KIMS in fracture and maintainance s very bad..it needs lots of improvement too..

In hubli dharwad there must be improve in internet.lots of time of people is wasting in loading the net. The fly over should be constructed. As to avoid traffic. The first priority should be given about education improvement in case in use of computers. There should be a lots of improvement in construction of Multiplex's and big buildings.

It is an excellent project taken by central government led by Narendra Modi.There should be supply of water for 24 hours in all areas of hubli and dharwad and internet facilities should given to every area and road should be widened to control traffic and make sure that all facilities are available to each person or not.
