Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, in Karnataka State has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities to participate in the “Smart City” Challenge Stage-2 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.

Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation was constituted in the year 1962 by combining two cities separated by a distance of 20 kilometers. This was a unique experiment in urban development history. The area of this Corporation is 202.3sq.kms, spread over 45 revenue villages. The population of the city as per the 1991 Census was 7 lakhs. The present population is nearly more than 9.43 lakhs. Under the Government of India Act of 1850, the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal council was established on August 15, 1855.

Let’s join together to make Hubballi-Dharwad as a Smart City.

We should use optical fibres in communication Which is 1000 times faster and efficient. Every part of the city must be access to internet And under ground drainage systems Roads must be widened

It is an excellent project taken by central government led by Narendra Modi.The cities coming under this project are going to modernized and smart in all fields but they should not harm the environment while constructing smart cities . There should be proper water supply to everyone. More number of trees should be grown. Smart Traffic controlling methods should be followed. Roads should be broadened. Electricity supply should be made 24 hours.

To be a smart city Hubli must have: 1. Good drinking water facility. 2. Proper parking area. 3. Should grow more plants to reduce pollution. 4. Proper construction of roads and footpaths. 5. Public transport facilities.

For DHARWAD to become smart city 24 hours electricity should provideed so that we can do when required not to do work when the electricity permit's us Please do think in this view modi sir.

For smart city road ways between hubli and dharwad must be improved and there must be continuous water supply fr 24 hrs and proper sewage treatment should be done.

1.free WI-Fi facility 2.electric supply should be made underground in order to save power loss 3.individuals id-proof which involves everything like adhar,voter id,bills,accounts.So they don't need to carry all documents. 4.provide smart card for travelling in buses,so that we can avoid change problem of conductors.

For smart city in Hubballi we must improve the bus facilities because there are some places in which bus will not arrive, in which people face lots of problems. And improve the roads any type of areas it may be large areas or small areas.
