Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, in Karnataka State has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities to participate in the “Smart City” Challenge Stage-2 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.

Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation was constituted in the year 1962 by combining two cities separated by a distance of 20 kilometers. This was a unique experiment in urban development history. The area of this Corporation is 202.3sq.kms, spread over 45 revenue villages. The population of the city as per the 1991 Census was 7 lakhs. The present population is nearly more than 9.43 lakhs. Under the Government of India Act of 1850, the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal council was established on August 15, 1855.

First of all entire cities must WiFi enabled cities so that each and every person more accessible to the internet. Government schools must have smart class. There is lot communication gap between contracter and engineer and the raw material dealer.

City should be cleaned. Clean free energy should be used for almost everything. Ensure the safety of women at any cost. Quality of education can be improved.

Good governance(especially e-governance and citizen participation), there must be sustainable environment, safety and security of citizens especially women and children, health and education of the society. these things would help making hubli-dharwad a smart city..

The roads should be improved and the business sector should be improved. More and more educational institute should come up. because education is the basic step for the development of the nation.

Our twincity is facing a lot problems with the drainage system,Hence it is required to make a perfect system to control drainage system.Slums should be developed.There are no street lights in every streets,So it is required to provide perfect street light facilities.Best digitalisation system should be done so that people can be connected to the world and can reach government easily.Society should be secured by proper police force.Electricity and water should be provided for 24hrs. #smartcity

1. The roads must be widened and it must be laid by tar. 2. The whole of the of twin city must be given free access to net by implementing free wifi across these cities. 3. Proper sanitation must be implemented to whole of the city 4. supporting the swach bharat abhiyan by pm modi and creating awareness among peoples and children. 5. controlling pollution by proper methods. 6. making education compulsory. 7. Drinking water facility

In order to make the Hubballi-Dharwad smart city following points can be taken into account 1.The roads should be developed, and the new roads should be layed by the waste plastic technology. 2.plants should be planted on the either sides of the roads and on the divider too. 3.Emission test should become compulsory so as to avoid the pollution,and even the traffic police men should take necessary actions against them who will violate the rules. 4.Education should be made compulsory.

In hubli we are facing a lot of problems with roads,Road must be repaired and they must be widened.There must be improvement in digitalisation,Must be provided best internet facility through out the twin cities.Better bus facility should be provided for senior citizens.Underground drainage systems should be improved a lot.Optical fibre connections should be provided for faster connectivity. Both electricity and water should be provided 24hours.Dust bins should be provided everywhere.
