India has a rich legacy of practices and knowledge touching different spheres of life and a scientific heritage traversing various Science & Technology (S&T) domains. The traditional knowledge of India is available in various forms such as classical texts, manuscripts and/or as oral communication that has been passed on over thousands of years. This valuable knowledge is often part of our daily practices as well. Some of the traditional practices are livelihood means of the concerned knowledge holders. Our traditional practices exist in synergy between human needs and nature, often balancing resources and requirements in a local context. However, with time, India’s Traditional Knowledge Systems are eroding rapidly, and the nation has also been witnessing erosion in people’s faith towards our traditional knowledge. A grave concern is the mindless attitude of some to mimic non-Indian cultures and disdain for our traditions. It’s important to recognize that traditional heritage is an integral part of any country’s development and progression. This calls for necessary attention and action from the concerned stakeholders in the country to build further on our scientific inheritance. Only a well-informed and balanced society can drive the advancement of the country.

Under the visionary leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister and President, CSIR Society, Shri Narendra Modi, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is spearheading the efforts to collaborate with the relevant partners from across the country and implement the national initiative SVASTIK (Scientifically Validated Societal Traditional Knowledge) for communicating India’s traditional knowledge to the society. CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR) is the nodal organization to implement this national initiative.

The prime mission of the initiative is to conserve scientifically validated traditional practices, and instil confidence in citizens regarding the scientific values of our traditional knowledge/practices.

We invite the suggestions of academicians, researchers, subject-matter experts, students, NGOs, and the public on how to instil confidence in society about our traditional knowledge and practices. This will help us in our mission to inculcate a scientific temper and instil confidence in citizens by stimulating the Science-Scientist-Society connect towards our traditional knowledge and practices.

Respected PMO, The best way to be acknowledged with the traditional knowledge and system is to update our academic books. We all know the meaning of BHARAT is much better than INDIA and its feeling of traditional significance. what is the meaning of INDIA? If we maintain to know and to feel BHARAT then we keep maintain Jambudweep, Brahmaverat, Aryaverta which connect our feeling to not to be INDIA but connect traditional feeling from Indonesia to Sindh. Our History book tells Bhart ki khoj is done by Vaskodigama a Purtgeej sailor. But our History books do not explain How many sailors and Itinerants were during the traditional time and much more not only keep knowing Megasthneez,Hwensang and Ibnbatoota. Much more extended investigation is required in all fields which can connect and Impact our mind to the estranged traditional system. We have to save our generational thinking and mindset from the copy-paste system of our country's progress so that we can develop BHARAT as BHARATVARSH.

The best way to impart traditional knowledge among citizens is through cinema. Cinema is something Indians relate to. They follow what their idols do and listen to what they say. Short films on social media would also do a great job. Another way would be to conduct workshops across the country, where people would be educated about different traditions of India and their significance. Schools should also teach students about India’s rich culture and traditions.

The most important evidence of our traditional knowledge and practices depicts from the fact that historical tradition of oral communications which continued to several generations had ultimately converted into text in the form of Veda, Upanishad, Epics etc. The fundamental similarities regarding values, principles, and ethics summarised in Veda and Upanishad, irrespective of their location of origination in the country and similarities in stories summarised in all the Epics on one kind, irrespective of their text language, itself evident the truth covered under all these Literatures. Further, the facts which are continuously being discovered from different part of the country regarding the stories mentioned in these epics fortify the truth. The universal acceptance of scientific power of our ancient ‘Sanskrit’ language and the ‘Mantra Shakti’ and ‘Yoga’ practices is another factor which proves You historical enrichment.

Respected PM Ji, # Marriage Tradition, Today a lot NEWS getting about couple👫 one married woman killed his husband for sake of her lover to marry him/Facebook love etc., vice versa like some man & woman culture is disturbing lots of couple lives some marry more than two ✌in their lives etc., but after looking wide one thing some are taking advantage💪 of GOV Marriage Certificates & planning to more marriages. So you 🌹please🙏here bring a policy that in one's life one should get one marriage certificate from GOV &i am sorry if any Widows/children wants to live with other person our GOV can issue Couple Living Support Certificate & authorised by GOV they can live together👫 rather than issuing marriage certificate to second marriage we commonly called T&C applies for living support certificate because some are marrying more than one & spoiled the word of marriage itself one aadhar one ration one marriage certificate then only India 🇮🇳traditionally improves so please🙏 think to save.

People of India, Cultural Diversity: Intangible and Tangible Cultural Heritage \r\n\r\nIn India, as in all other regions of the world, local communities who have long history of interaction with their natural environment are a treasure trove of a cumulative body of knowledge, know-how, practices and representations. This local and indigenous-traditional knowledge is a key resource for empowering communities against marginalization, poverty and impoverishment. Intellectual property and the country’s laws that govern intellectual property right (IPR) grant protection to the individuals/communities from whom the creative endeavour or knowledge is derived. Indigenous knowledge comes from a diverse range of populations and occupational groups, such as traditional farmers, pastoralists, fishermen and such others whose knowledge is linked to a specific place and is likely to be based on a long period of occupancy spanning several generations.
