The role of new and renewable energy has been increasing significantly in recent times with the growing concern for the country's energy security. To achieve energy self-sufficiency, it is necessary to deploy new and renewable energy for supplementing the energy requirements of our country. So, we ask you to suggest ways for encouraging the use of renewable energy on this open discussion forum.

Honourable Sir, I think to increase the green energy government should make it mandatory for all government building to install solar energy system on the building roof and use solar lights as far as possible. Also, I think that the new highways which are being constructed or developed should also have solar energy system at various locations and all the street light can run through these systems. With this government can also think to make water harvesting system mandatory on highways.

Government of India must not emphasize only on Solar or Wind energy. But our scientists must find out ways to make "Energy from Bio-Mass" viable in Indian conditions.

By using "BIO-MASS" for energy production, India can kill three birds with one stone i.e energy,cleanliness,air-pollution control. Indians often take "BIO-MASS" as waste and thrown in dustbins or burnt on road-side by municipality sweepers. Bio-mass burning is major cause of high air-pollution and garbage. If our scientists are able to develop a mechanism which can use "Bio-Mass" for energy production, it will help India to get it's cities clean with lower level of air-pollution.
