The role of new and renewable energy has been increasing significantly in recent times with the growing concern for the country's energy security. To achieve energy self-sufficiency, it is necessary to deploy new and renewable energy for supplementing the energy requirements of our country. So, we ask you to suggest ways for encouraging the use of renewable energy on this open discussion forum.

(1) All Govt offices should switch-over to LED lights. (2) Wherever possible Govt offices/business houses should switch over to solar power. (3) Private people should be encouraged to use solar power with proper intensives Like in UK

1) Before granting oc / cc certificate to any new construction, make it mandatory for each project to install solar energy panels for common amenities like lights, lifts etc.. 2) all street lights across India to be solar energy driven 3) make India manufacturing hub for solar panels

Contd.... 5. EOVs can exchange the exhausted batteries with charged ready to use batteries from those charging stations. 6. Public private partnership can play a very important role in installing solar powered battery charging stations,and these charging stations can buy or sell electricity from grid depending on demand and supply.

1. Since solar power hooked directly to grid is much cheaper, so incentive be given for installing solar panels by a community which can produce power of more than 25KW or 50 KW. Idea is to get 25 to 50 investors who are ready to invest Rs 35000 to Rs 70,000 each @11% return from solar panels and avoid hassles in problems of connecting to the grid. Other benefits can be intangible which may not be financial.

1. Introduce solar powered battery cahrging stations, which can function like petrol & deisel refilling stations. 2. Promote electrically operated vehicles in cities, big residential and commercial complexes. 3. Standardize the size and rating of batteries to be used in EOVs, so that these batteries are easily interchangeable with the batteries of same rating and size. 4.
