Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has emerged as a wonderful forum to strengthen the bond between the diaspora and the people of India. It offers unlimited opportunities for India to gain from the skill and insight of the diaspora, who have been the pride of India across the world.

This forum seeks inputs on how to further sharpen the focus of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas for the overall development of India. Share your views on what more can be done to make the interaction between the NRIs and the Government more productive and impactful. How can India receive more investment not only from the diaspora but also from the world at large?

If you find global best practices of how various Governments have been innovatively engaging with their diaspora through such summits, you can share the same here too.

Post your election to the largest democracy, diaspora would come with open heart always if 1) We must stop corruption chain from top to bottom, 2) Have transparency in Taxation, Law & justice, 3) Make all current government bodies to deliver, everyday sanitation, civic services, better roads-it improves the overall productivity of the people & its right of citizen, we pay taxes for everything, 4) Best insurance & health cover for secure life.Diaspora world will be happy to participate.

In continuation to my first post, there is need to think that for the security concerns in traffic rules there are limits of persons to be travelled e.g. bike 2 person, rikshaw 3 person, taxi 4 person, etc. And they are penalized for breaking these rules by gov (police). However, - What about public transport buses (city & state) mainly during pick up hrs???? - What about local trains??? Who will punish them for over loading??

We shall appreciate efforts of GoI for their concerns about traffic problems and rules for the traffic control. According to new traffic rules penalties have increased for breaking rules. However, i feel that this might can increase people's adherence to the traffic rules but there is also concern that chances of corruption will increase as to avoid huge penalty people may give some money to traffic police. This needs to be seriously think and we should work on changing people's attitude.

right now embassy is totally inactive in gulf countries, where there are many Indians. THe state of Indians in gulf countries is really pathetic. Govt should increase the bond between Indians living abroad and embassy !

I would like to see the followings in my country: 1. One identity card for every citizen with centralized digital data base. 2. zero tolerance for corrupt people with strict punishment.3. Centralized health insurance to every citizen. 4. Police system reform. 5. Reform in education system and equal opportunity without distinguishing Mtech/MSc or BE/BSc.

The Senior citizens of India sincerely thank your govt for raising the IT limit to Rs.3 lakhs. In order to mitigate the physical and mental hardship of the aged persons, they may please be exempted from filing the IT returns, if the income does not exceed Rs.3 lakhs in ayear. They at least deserve this small gesture in their fag end of their lives. However those who want refund may file the returns.

Pravasi Bhartiya are NRIs. They only look for respect and acknowledgement of what they have achieved in the foriegn lands which we could not do sitting in India. They certainly a class more talented, daring and courageous who did what they have done. Now they want to show us their achievements and also do something in own country to prove that they are competent and can do more good for the country also. So in my view we should welcome their proposals with due respect.

Firstly, I must appreciate the effort taken for this forum. No doubt , it's a good initiative taken by Mygov.. Pravasi Bharatiya must accept this occasion and share their feeling which will come to picture. For our benefit for all what contribution they can do , they want to do and so on..They will feel homely to speak out. On the other side, Our govt. should keep an watch and co-operate with their need as well.
