Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has emerged as a wonderful forum to strengthen the bond between the diaspora and the people of India. It offers unlimited opportunities for India to gain from the skill and insight of the diaspora, who have been the pride of India across the world.

This forum seeks inputs on how to further sharpen the focus of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas for the overall development of India. Share your views on what more can be done to make the interaction between the NRIs and the Government more productive and impactful. How can India receive more investment not only from the diaspora but also from the world at large?

If you find global best practices of how various Governments have been innovatively engaging with their diaspora through such summits, you can share the same here too.

Sir, In india the procedures to anything are quite complex. For a small thing like constructing an house, we need to reach out multiple offices ex, plan approval, electricity, water, house tax.. so I can imagine how much struggle it would be to start a new company. In my opinion, there should be a single window system for every work and those officials should take care of everything and communicate back the progress to the applicant if case of any problems or documentation required.

Our PM have been going around and asking for FDI, why not we ask our NRI to invest in our national development bonds which can give them good benefits. Bond holder can get good returns, preference in starting business, jobs I'm future. NRI who are influential can be our ambassador for bringing company to start business in India we can give them special status.

wheen NRI lands in india the trouble start right from airport. Announcing propery policy what & how much they can bring without duty & with duty. transparency in the policy & awareness. Charges of everything to be highlighted in bold so they are not feel cheated. Already swachh baharat is started and continue everyday so the image of india change. As per west consumer is king, here all the item sold must have mrp & have weight & measurement on it.

India produces huge amounts of food grains, enough to satisfy the needs of each and every Indian. However, due to poor storage facilities and improper collection methods, some 35% is wasted. Up-gradation of storehouses to international standards would not only prevent this loss, but also reduce food inflation by bringing down costs due to increased supply.

A lot of the products imported by the online shopping companies are factory rejects from china, taiwan, japan. The unsuspecting consumers pay full price for these products and have to go through a return/refund process that takes over 6 weeks. The money paid becomes 'float' and a interest free loan from the cosnumer. These companies lend this money out to other businesses on short term basis charging interest as high as 40%pa. These are all undocumented transactions and hence 'black money' or unaccounted money is generated for various uses by these companies. I suspect all of the above and have no way of proving it. But, an investigation by government is justified.

They left the country. If they are interested they should have contributed to the tax and others to the country. If they went simply for earning money then why they took the citizenship and also buy properties there. They are welcome but not at the cost of people of India. They shall be treated as Foreigners till they regain Indian Citizenship

The Online Retail outlets must be audited for possible money-laundering activity. There are several layers of middle-men in the scheme between the the consumer and the producer. That in and of itself presents a great opportunity for money laundering.
