Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has emerged as a wonderful forum to strengthen the bond between the diaspora and the people of India. It offers unlimited opportunities for India to gain from the skill and insight of the diaspora, who have been the pride of India across the world.

This forum seeks inputs on how to further sharpen the focus of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas for the overall development of India. Share your views on what more can be done to make the interaction between the NRIs and the Government more productive and impactful. How can India receive more investment not only from the diaspora but also from the world at large?

If you find global best practices of how various Governments have been innovatively engaging with their diaspora through such summits, you can share the same here too.

Dear Mr PM, Greetings. I was an NRI for many years. The following will help- 1- streamlining all taxes and procedures for doing business, ideally a one house clearing facility. 2- connecting with NRI s at a more personal level, espousing thier patriotism and harnessing thier emotions towards India. 3- Providing the facility for NRIs to come and work in India, especially doctors, engineers teachers etc without the implications of double taxation. Hope this helps. Regards, Pratik K Singh

There should be price control on properties in real estate, the people who really wants the house can 't purchasing the properties because of high price and who really doesn't need the house they have multiple properties only for investment.

Investment by diaspora not be viewed only from a financial angle.Commitment of NRIs should mean spending productive time in India, envisaging progressive projects, being engaged in developmental planning, transferring skills, being passionate and proud of country of birth/ origin and most importantly promoting India abroad. In India laws should be less stringent for overseas investments.Strong infrastructure to ensure happy working partnerships. Reciprocity essential for effective involvement.

Create a provision for dual citizenship so that NRIs can live & even work in India. A lot of them are professionals like doctors who are on the verge of retirement & can contribute in improving healthcare in India thru their experience and also bring in foreign exchange in the form of their social security cheques. Provide them access to govt hospitals & health ministry, and seek their inputs on a long term basis on improving healthcare at grassroot levels.

Dear Sir, For the Swach Bharath I am giving a suggestion as for the first step. 1) We can stop cool drinks in pet bottles 2) Stop Manufacturing of poly glasses. 3) we can collect green garbage (recyclable) for Rs.0.25/kg. So that it will save more than 50% of man power in segregation
