Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has emerged as a wonderful forum to strengthen the bond between the diaspora and the people of India. It offers unlimited opportunities for India to gain from the skill and insight of the diaspora, who have been the pride of India across the world.

This forum seeks inputs on how to further sharpen the focus of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas for the overall development of India. Share your views on what more can be done to make the interaction between the NRIs and the Government more productive and impactful. How can India receive more investment not only from the diaspora but also from the world at large?

If you find global best practices of how various Governments have been innovatively engaging with their diaspora through such summits, you can share the same here too.

Government of India should reach to the NRIs/Foreign nationals showing various steps taken to liberalise laws for NRIs through various various ways like social networking/advertising on TV at NRIs countries and also in India on various TV Channels. Once NRIs/Foreign nationals are assured by laws, they will definitely get attracted

We should become expert atleast one field in the begining. Reffering that investors will get assurance that if they invest in india then they will be benifited. Overall growth with less percentage will help in all feild but to get investment we should be in top in atleast one field.

The only way to encourage investment in the country is by reducing the government intervention in the day to day business activity and by also reducing the compliances required . There must be a coordination in the state and the central government to ensure that the investors dont face the problem and improve transparency at each steps. The other thing that can be done is to reduce the paper work andf the entire process of filing and taxes should be electronically done

On major highways, tourist spots should be advertised with signs and distance from the spot of advertisement. More signs needed as to cities to follow on the same road and their distances.

To receive more investments consolidate the laws governing foreign investment. Today laws on this subject are scattered. This will definitely motivate foreign investors. Also make sure that after consolodation of laws the newly formed law must be adhered to strictly and adherence to laws must not be allowed to let go

In 2013, I went to visit India with O.C.I. card. When I would check in the hotels, counter person was looking for stamped visa. An O.C.I. is a life long visa, which is not written on the first page. Then the hotels and motels need to be educated in O.C.I. and P.I.O. cards so that they do'nt hassle the tourists like us.

I feel that there is a need to Expedite the Evaluation process Of Results in Railways. I have seen many people suffering from it. You can think how painful is it for a person to get his results after 2-3 year. After so many years he doesn't even remember that when he took the test. Friends although I am from IT (Information Tech.) background but I can feel the pain they are undergoing now. So if you feel the same please guys upvote my concern. Thanks.

NRIs' have very little faith in our system.. Need to create special and speedy group of ex army people who can provide support and guidance whenever our NRIs' face problem with any of our government departments. Quick action should be taken. They are our message carriers and image creators worldwide. Issue them special ID which government employees treat them very special guests no matter what department is.
