Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has emerged as a wonderful forum to strengthen the bond between the diaspora and the people of India. It offers unlimited opportunities for India to gain from the skill and insight of the diaspora, who have been the pride of India across the world.

This forum seeks inputs on how to further sharpen the focus of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas for the overall development of India. Share your views on what more can be done to make the interaction between the NRIs and the Government more productive and impactful. How can India receive more investment not only from the diaspora but also from the world at large?

If you find global best practices of how various Governments have been innovatively engaging with their diaspora through such summits, you can share the same here too.

Introduce a public-private participation program to get top professionals take part in Govt of India projects. This would be a great way to getting good expertise and allow skilled NRIs a way to contribute. Onto specifics - an example would be to have an MNC allow some of its employees to take a year off to work on Govt of India project. This is akin to providing successful employees a sabbatical and allow them to participate in such projects.

My suggestion is that If finance ministry bring the VDIS Scheme again with tax @10% without charging any penalty. The effect will be the huge money come in system & after one year it will generate the income & government will get the tax.

Government of India has to simplify regulations for establishing industries from NRIs. All permissions should be given quickly within 30 days like electricity, water and sight. PMO should monitor from Expert Committee likely to be formed in place of Planning Commission. PM said India has 134 rank in 189 countries and his desire is welcome to bring within 50 soon. NRIs will sure to invest their hard earned amounts in India with their experience in their fields had sufficient experience.

Government should encourage the NRIs to create groups based on their native places and canvas them to invest in their area. They would be more happy to invest in their native place.
