Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has emerged as a wonderful forum to strengthen the bond between the diaspora and the people of India. It offers unlimited opportunities for India to gain from the skill and insight of the diaspora, who have been the pride of India across the world.

This forum seeks inputs on how to further sharpen the focus of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas for the overall development of India. Share your views on what more can be done to make the interaction between the NRIs and the Government more productive and impactful. How can India receive more investment not only from the diaspora but also from the world at large?

If you find global best practices of how various Governments have been innovatively engaging with their diaspora through such summits, you can share the same here too.

( 5 ) 5. Entertainment electronics. 6. Pharmas- and derivatives. 7. Petroleum and the down-stream products. 8 Nano technology 9. Electrical engg.digital control equipments. 10. Bio-tech. = to mention a few areas. Now, as I see it, NRIs may not be big-investors- but can be MSMEs. extending another concept let me make some more suggestions. Govt. can link= 1. Import-substitution. 2. Reduction of imports by half over 3 year-period. 3, Bringing latest tech. 4. Hybridization-import only components.

( 1 ) The months of Dec- Jan are usually allocated for PBD. Now, this govt. can think of a prolonged PBD program- starting from 25th Dec and ending 15th Jan. as, Jan. 13, 14, 15 are being celebrated across India as one holy festival or other. If batches of PBs are engaged in these 3 weeks, state-wise, industry-wise, expertise-based etc. then it will definitely yield results. The fields that come to my mind are - 1. Defence electronics. 2. Instrumentation. 3. Medical electronics. 4. Telecomm.

Namaste. In todays Man Ki Bat you have assured that you will talk abt the dug addiction issue.Pl also think abt rising tobacco addiction. 7th November is National Cancer Awareness day. Its good to observe such days. But, that is not sufficient. If we BAN the Tobacco & related products, the cencer burden in India will be reduced by 40% & also of other non communicable diseases. So pl pl pl think on BAN. Dhanyawad.

Sir your government is giving pravasi Indians so much value yet u missed one crucial point. Somewhere in last govt. put ban on NRIs representing India in sports. Sir as you very well know that sports doesnt gets hugely valued in our country and our performances over the years have also been not so great. Sir main cause of this is infrastructure which sadly isnt good...but in most countries it is worldclass...sir i urge you to change this norm at least it can give NRIs another deserving right

As NRIs who returned here 10 yrs ago & bought a company, we are still struggling to cope with the gov't systems, corruption & harassment. We went to the extent of fighting corrupt. by going to the court of law. In the end we have wasted our intellectual capacity & time in fighting the corrupt system rather than in busi. development and system improvements. I suggest Mr. Modi's gov't to create an NRI grievance cell where folks like us can talk abt our exp. & provide suggestions for better governa

( 3) After making their stay pleasant & hard to forget, next few steps on seeking investments etc., can be an exercise done either here or, taken with them even after their departure to own destinations. Govt. can pursue on well-identified investments-matching them with capabilities and experiences of individual NRIs- either singly or as group of NRIs- either in one or multiple areas of specialty of NRIs small/ medium /big enterprises as limited by NRI's own purses-taken forward methodically.

Shivraj ji announced to create Global talent pool after PM's suggestion. I am watching closely how he implements because only problem of MP is effective implementation of schemes. Even being BJP's good governance sympathizer people like me have started expecting that there should be revolutionary actions from MP govt, and I hope he utilise this scheme and implement it well. because I see lack of ideas in MP govt and PRAVASI Bhartiya Divas can contribute in global talent pool creation
