Malnutrition observed during early/ late childhood/ adolescence/ young adulthood can be traced back to poor breastfeeding habits during neonatal period. Mother’s milk not only essential for nutritional requirements of the baby but it protects the baby from various infections, helps baby’s brain growth. After 6 months home made supplementary food may be added with breast-feeding. I appeal fellow netizens not to make undue requests/ pressurise the Doctors to prescribe any marketed formula feeds.

Foundation for a healthy & intelligent individual is laid down during childhood, through first feeds to the newborn. Digestive system of newborn babies are not developed enough to digest any marketed food product/ formula feed. Newborn babies can only digest their mother’s milk. Hence, it’s responsibility of the family members of the newborn baby to encourage the mother for exclusive breast-feeding (NO HONEY, NO SUGAR Water, NO Janm-Ghutti etc., even NO WATER) for first 6months of life.

So once my father bought the palmyra tuber. My mum steamed it and then give to her my sister peeled the skin and it she loved it she started eating it regularly and also asking my father to buy it even though she is not eating vegetables eating something which is nutritious like palmyra tuber is very fruitful for her health.Try this

There should be a research institute on this and recommend Indian(not just Hindi belt) foods with their nutritional values, calories and calorie intakes for different age groups, sex and heights/weights and also based on their life style, altitude etc. And also ratings for best foods/food habits in different sumpradaaya’s. There should be a complete inventory. Also Ayurveda food recommendations for each age group. Publish. And don’t do this by modern slaves or politically correctists

Can we add one small glass of milk in our primary school mid day meal programme ? If this can be done ,it will be a big move towards healthy India.
