Create large storage facility in Railway lands on private-Govt partnership basis.(build operate with 100 years lease). such large scale facility should be available in every district. This will facilitate easy movement grains. We also need cold storage for fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately, we have not found technology to store vegetables. This should be the important expenditure on research.

Grains should be kept in Grain sailos and free of Rodents. Targets should be kept for each type of grain and food to be stored. minimum levels should be defined. Replenishment should be planned. Any excesses should be given free to the people below poverty line. It should be ensured that food should not go waste in our country where still people go without 2 square meals. Food of good quality should also be given for Mid Day meal schemes free from stock. this will ensure that food will not rot.
