The District Administration Baghpat invites citizens, youth, innovators and institutions from across India on MyGov to share innovative and practical ideas to transform the Shri Parshurameshwar Pura Mahadev Mahashivratri Mela into a Zero Waste Mahotsav on theme “Bhakti Bhi, Prakriti Bhi”.

Building on the successful implementation of a Zero Waste model during Falguni Mahashivratri 2026 celebrations, this initiative aims to further strengthen sustainable practices and develop Baghpat as a model for green and responsible religious gatherings in India.

Aligned with the vision of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), Swachh Bharat and sustainable tourism, the initiative promotes environmentally responsible behaviour, reduction of waste, resource efficiency and community participation in large public events.

What kind of ideas are we looking for?
1. Participants are encouraged to submit practical, scalable and innovative ideas in areas such as:
a. Waste management and zero waste systems
b. Plastic-free alternatives for melas and religious events
c. Eco-friendly materials and green infrastructure
d. Awareness campaigns and behavioural change strategies
e. Volunteer and youth engagement models
f. Use of technology (apps, QR-based services, monitoring systems, etc.)
g. Sustainable tourism and visitor management

How to participate?
1. Submit your idea in maximum 200–300 words
2. Focus on solutions that can be practically implemented on ground
3. You may include examples, models or case references

What will happen to your ideas?
Selected ideas will be reviewed by the District Administration and considered for implementation during the Shravani Mahashivratri Mela scheduled in second week of August 2026. Selected contributions may also be recognised as part of a district-led innovation initiative and documented as good practices.

This is an opportunity to contribute to building a national model of sustainable religious events, promote environmental responsibility, and strengthen citizen participation in governance. Your ideas can help demonstrate how tradition, technology and sustainability can work together for a better future.

firstly we should be a responsible citizen ourselves only and there should be dustbin available at every 500 meters considering the place is a holy place people should be aware of how to be a good citizen there should be fine and punishment whoever polluted or dirty the places around them there should be surveillance camera and proper security to look after all the people such that any kind of unwanted things should be stopped

मंदिर मेले में ‘Zero Waste Token System’ लागू किया जाए, जिसमें श्रद्धालु प्लास्टिक या कचरा वापस जमा करने पर Token/Reward प्राप्त करें। इन rewards को प्रसाद, भोजन या पेयजल से जोड़ा जा सकता है। साथ ही चढ़े हुए फूलों से खाद और अगरबत्ती बनाई जाए। यह पहल महोत्सव को स्वच्छ, पर्यावरण-हितैषी और पूरे भारत के लिए एक आदर्श Zero Waste Model बना सकती है। धन्यवाद

सर, कोई भी नया सिटी बसाया जाए, टाउनशिप ,कॉलोनी, मकान ,प्लॉट आदि का निर्माण या योजना हो, तो यह अवश्य नीति निर्धारित हो कि वह एक निश्चित नीति के अनुसार नए पेड़ लगाया जाना आवश्यक रूप से सुनिश्चत हो, नीति हो कि अधिक से अधिक पेड़ लगाए जाएं, सर मेरा आपसे करबद्ध निवेदन है, कि आप जनता को अधिक से अधिक पेड़ लगाए जाने के लिए प्रेरित करें, और आवश्यक हो तो कानून का निर्माण करें. प्रणाम

The Mahotsav promotes devotion to Lord Shiva along with environmental protection under the message: “Bhakti bhi, Swachhta bhi.”

जब भी कुछ लोग भ्रष्टाचार करते हैं या गड़बड़ी कर लेते हैं तो उस समय एक बीज बो दिया जाता है कि "किसी को पता नहीं चलेगा" , " क्या फर्क पड़ता है" और धीरे धीरे वो पौधे से पेड़ बनता जाता है और प्रकृति में अपना योगदान देते रहता है उसकी प्राणवायु लोगों को मिलती रहती है और बीमारी या प्राकृतिक आपदा के रूप में फ़ैल जाती है इस बीमारी या आपदाओं से दान , सेवा, संगति, अच्छे कर्म ही सर्व जातिय समाज को बचा सकते हैं इसलिए अपना योगदान और सहयोग अवश्य करें।
