The District Administration Baghpat invites citizens, youth, innovators and institutions from across India on MyGov to share innovative and practical ideas to transform the Shri Parshurameshwar Pura Mahadev Mahashivratri Mela into a Zero Waste Mahotsav on theme “Bhakti Bhi, Prakriti Bhi”.

Building on the successful implementation of a Zero Waste model during Falguni Mahashivratri 2026 celebrations, this initiative aims to further strengthen sustainable practices and develop Baghpat as a model for green and responsible religious gatherings in India.

Aligned with the vision of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), Swachh Bharat and sustainable tourism, the initiative promotes environmentally responsible behaviour, reduction of waste, resource efficiency and community participation in large public events.

What kind of ideas are we looking for?
1. Participants are encouraged to submit practical, scalable and innovative ideas in areas such as:
a. Waste management and zero waste systems
b. Plastic-free alternatives for melas and religious events
c. Eco-friendly materials and green infrastructure
d. Awareness campaigns and behavioural change strategies
e. Volunteer and youth engagement models
f. Use of technology (apps, QR-based services, monitoring systems, etc.)
g. Sustainable tourism and visitor management

How to participate?
1. Submit your idea in maximum 200–300 words
2. Focus on solutions that can be practically implemented on ground
3. You may include examples, models or case references

What will happen to your ideas?
Selected ideas will be reviewed by the District Administration and considered for implementation during the Shravani Mahashivratri Mela scheduled in second week of August 2026. Selected contributions may also be recognised as part of a district-led innovation initiative and documented as good practices.

This is an opportunity to contribute to building a national model of sustainable religious events, promote environmental responsibility, and strengthen citizen participation in governance. Your ideas can help demonstrate how tradition, technology and sustainability can work together for a better future.

Sir I request the Modi government to buy only 3squadrons of rafale 2engine jets instead of 114 jets as France is not giving 100% technology transfer and 6squadrons of Russia’s Su57 2engine jets with complete transfer of technology as these among all other double engine jets can be deployed in hilly areas and buy 9squadrons of Europe’s gripin jets which are single engine cheaper jets and can be deployed in plain areas and at sea which will replace the Mig21 as India’s AMCA project will take another 10 years to be part of Indian Airforce. 3.6.9. American president sent Marco Rubio to India on my request as after been to china which was a flop show and Iran war and America’s misunderstanding going on with Europe, I asked president trump to not to spoil relations with India and it’s time for America to choose his friends carefully as he needs them now, so I hope meeting with him and S Jaishankar went peacefully. America simply wants India to stand by him, I sent him msgs on 15th may 1:26 am and at very short interval he visited India, also I requested him to put Qatar in between to mediate if he wants a deal and not Pakistan as pak is not a credible partner and he can backstab America which also he considered. America is in need of support from India so India can ask him to invest and do other things too which are in favour of India.

The initiative by the District Administration of Baghpat to celebrate the Shri Parshurameshwar Pura Mahadev Temple Mahashivratri as a 'Zero Waste Mahotsav' is highly commendable and visionary. Blending religious devotion with environmental sustainability is exactly what our country needs today. The 'Green Bhakti Corridor' idea suggested by Sumit Anil Thokal is incredibly practical and brilliant. Making the mela area plastic-free, promoting reusable steel utensils, and converting floral offerings into organic compost through local self-help groups can be a complete game-changer. Additionally, recycling the sacred abhishek water for temple gardens is a deeply respectful and eco-friendly thought.

Green Bhakti Corridor” is an initiative to transform Shri Parshurameshwar Pura Mahadev Temple Mahotsav into a model Zero Waste pilgrimage site. Under this idea, the mela area will become completely plastic-free with reusable cloth bags, steel utensils, and water refill stations. Separate collection systems for flowers, food waste, plastic, and ritual items will ensure scientific waste management. Floral offerings can be converted into compost and incense products through local self-help groups. Sacred abhishek water can be collected through bamboo channels and reused for temple gardens and tree plantations. A QR-based reward system can encourage devotees to follow eco-friendly practices by giving Green Bhakt Points and digital certificates. Youth volunteers from NSS/NCC can guide visitors regarding cleanliness and sustainability. A “Waste-to-Art” selfie zone made from recycled materials will spread awareness creatively. Additionally, a “One Devotee One Plant” campaign with GPS tracking

Sir I saw the news debate yesterday where news media personal Amish was not questioning the opposition leaders for giving wrong statements, he seemed suppressed and in pressure of the opposition, if media will behave like this just to be not called godi media by other people, please organise a meeting with the media person that even if they will support the opposition still they will not stop calling them godi media. A media person responsibility is to tell the truth stand by the truth and question the wrong, if they create a soft corner for the wrong then they will eat them up as media cannot be compromised at all because I’ve seen him supporting the bjp leaders in pictures on his insta and fb but while debating he was in fear to even contradict a wrong statement by Mr. Rajput, media should stand with the right as bjp is doing right things in the favour of the nation so all media should support the government of India irrespective of getting called by such names

Title: Eco-Friendly Mahashivratri Idea: Transform Mahashivratri into a Zero Waste Festival by creating a plastic-free temple environment and promoting sustainable practices. Use separate bins for wet, dry, and puja waste to ensure proper waste segregation. Recycle temple flowers and organic waste into compost. Install water refill stations to reduce plastic bottle usage and encourage devotees to carry reusable bottles. A dedicated Green Volunteer Team can help spread awareness, guide visitors, and maintain cleanliness throughout the celebration. Impact: A cleaner temple, reduced pollution, and a greener future for coming generations. Tagline: “Green Temple, Clean Festival – Har Har Mahadev!”
