Gyan Mandirs or Public Libraries and Science Laboratories should be opened in every city as part of Education Policy to drive gains from 'informal spread of education'. MOBILE EDUCATION VANS with video lessons in translated into local dialect should travel rural areas following a pre-set timetable to give limited but first class education to India's village kids. This can be extended to imparting VOCATIONAL EDUCATION too.

Research in India in various domains is hardly visible to its countrymen. UGC should make it compulsory for all DISSERTATIONS in every university course to be put into public domain. It shall put an onus on students & their guides to ensure new topics are researched year after year. Indian students lack funds for research. Group PhD and other research degrees should be allowed. This shall ensure pooling of funds and efforts leading to pathbreaking outcomes.

India needs to develop its innovation potential. Presently science labs focus on outdated experiments only. Therefore, Science labs, where there are various kinds of SCIENCE KITS that allow students to experiment and innovate must be made compulsory. There should be a RANKING OF SCHOOLS according to the innovations they bring out each year. A positive competition among schools shall become a boon for children and the nation's innovation economy.

School curriculum should focus more on languages and in language textbooks, there should be chapters which give an insight into various professions. This way the children would be exposed to a variety of professions from which they can draw inspiration for their future career choices. Group projects in schools with children of different abilities & backgrounds in various subjects should lead to development values of acceptance, confidence, determination, honesty, sincerity, teamwork etc.

What skills are we talking about. Is it just the technical skills or soft skills that we intend an individual to learn. It would be good opportunity for the students to develop technical skills in the higher education which would further can be utilized in the market and give a good return too.

respected sir, Bank charges interest for education loan at 14%. at the same time for vehicle loans, housing loans etc at 7%-10%. is this fair. last term UPA government provided interest subsidy for education loan , but it did not reach to the beneficiaries. i hope this budget will look into this.

, pre-vocational courses at high school level may inculcate the technical knowledge by being physically and mentally prepared. The co-ordination of industry-institute -interaction is very much required for skill development which can be achieved by providing internship at school final level also to younger generation!
