The enormity of the situation brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic invites – or rather forces – a reflection on the nature and effectiveness of our systems of governance. And not just of health systems, but more broadly the governance of issues in a Pandemic.

Governance, is frequently used to refer to certain positive attributes organizations and institutions (often public institutions) should incorporate. These attributes include some concepts such as:
• Transparency
• Accountability
• Control of corruption
• Efficiency
• Inclusiveness
• Rule of law

This manner of understanding governance, often also referred to as “good governance”, suggests that effective governance is about setting rules and incentives such as enforceable orders, directives or recommendations. Through these, the behaviours of a substantial number of individuals in the group of interest are steered in a direction that is conducive to achieving collective goals.
In the current situation with the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, the central governance issues have been facing a number of challenges. The coronavirus pandemic is here and its effects on lives are still unimaginable. It has opened eyes to the limitations we have to generate effective governance in the face of a public health crisis.

To address the challenges, the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances have operationalized the ‘Idea-Box’ for receiving Ideas and Suggestions on the topic “Good Governance Practice in a Pandemic” with effect from 02.11.2020.

You can share your submissions only in PDF format.

The Department looks forward to your ideas and suggestions on “Good Governance Practice in a Pandemic” in the Idea-Box hosted here.

Sir, suggestions "One India One Election". Further automation of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) should is essential to achieve the goal. EVM should be devised in such a way that it should be automated to contain Voter list Mechanically as well. It reduces manual operations and if connected centrally with the computer hub so that the results can be declared sooner.

Focus on Last-Mile Infrastructure and bring logistics cost of GDP down from 14 percent to less than 10 percent. Creating more jobs and giving people more opportunities to stem job losses during the pandemic. https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/trade/exports/logistics/india-can-add-8-to-its-exports-if-it-puts-its-last-mile-connect-in-the-fast-lane/articleshow/70782149.cms

We do not find temporary solution for this issue, we have to give easy and low cost medicine to all in any one of the methods, sidda or ayurveda etc. but our goal is slitly people grow with immunity. For example monthly ration with 1 pocket of leaver strengthen medicin next month bones Medicin etc, like murungai powder spinach tablets. Through this we make strong healthy INDIA. Jaihind,

Dear ALL FELLOW CITIZENS, AS THE TRUST IN PENSIONERS IS VERY LITTLE THE LIFE HAS TO BE CERTIFIED EVERY YEAR BY GIVING LIFE CERTIFICATE ? IT IS QUITE MEANINGLESS TO INSIST LIFE CERTIFICATE EVEN IN THIS CRISIS TIME. INDIRECTLY GOVT. WANTS TO REDUCE PENSION POPULATION ? BY INSISTING LIFE CERTIFICATE EVEN IN THIS CRITICAL COVID19 TIME ? No VACCINE no life certificate BE followed for SAFETY of PENSIONER CC TV WORKING IN BANK AND IDENTIFIES CORRECTLY THE BULK IDENTIFICATION DONE WITHOUT CERTIFICATE

Dear Sir, Actually educated mass is most corrupted now a days . *Mostly government employees* total bribes collected last year is more than double from our country's tax collection. Simple example- my friend has been elected and nominated as chairman of my block for two times first 5year he has been served citizen decently but after closer to government employee (tahsildar, BDO,RI) now a days he takes bribe to pass every government file on his table and spending time with BDO and tahasildar.
