Taking serious note of the latest decision of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Chandigarh Administration has speed up the enforcement of ban imposed on the use of polythene ...

Taking serious note of the latest decision of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Chandigarh Administration has speed up the enforcement of ban imposed on the use of polythene carry bags/plastic bags/plates/cups and other allied material in Union Territory of Chandigarh. As per NGT directions there is also provision of imposing fine of Rs.5, 000/- "Environmental Compensation" to the erring person/entity per event, along with seizure of such stocks.

With the help of this discussion platform the Administration requests you to 'report the violations' (attach pictures or other details) regarding use of plastic carry bag/plate/cup and allied items on ww.mygov.in. Also, we would like to read your suggestions/ideas as well as practical/workable solutions for complete imposition of plastic (carry bag/cup/plate and allied items) ban in Chandigarh.

#PlasticCarrybags sabhi kehte hai plastic pe ban laga dena chahiye jo no doudt sahi v hai but us say pehle kuch responsbility hume v leni chahiye hume khud plastic use nh krna chahiye.. hum use nahi krenge demand nahi rhegi auto he band ho jayega.. kavi kavi gov se pehle hume khud zimmedari leni chahiye

plastic life se jud gya h.Har cheej jo bhi hm buy krte h sab sirf plastic mei hi milta h.log bolte toh h ki jute bags ya paper bags use kare lakin har cheej ke lie hm ny use kr pate aur isse acche se lagu bhi ny kr pate.isslie mera yehi maanna h ki milkproduts,chocolates malls,clothes showroom sabko kehna hoga ki vo plastic ka isstemaal band kar de.cheap rate pe sabji,dukaano ko papaer bags milne chahiye aur agar vo plstic use krte paegye to 500fine dena hoga ek no. hona chahiye foto click bheje

Govt n buerocrat always blame on poor people for dirty India..but only one to be blamed who cudn't provide us basic system,these same poor people when work in Dubai do not make dirty n follow traffic rules too. It's system job to show there is only one way .

Polythene bags era life today..water to milk..anything to anything carried i polythene bags..if we don't have collection n disposal system,never means to ban it..have to implement garbage collection n disposal..key of swach Bharat.

Public using plastic carry bag due to affordable,comfortable,weight carry capacity,sustainable,chiep,etc. reason for use,but,it can be change by alternative carry bag of cloths or paper, which is affordable,comfortable,weight carring capacity,price,sustainability, if better,people always ready to change,e.i., public are now using NOKIA 3310 MODEL to smart phone only due to above factor,the appropriate alternative should be given to public for comfortable and easy change in system. Best wishes

सर अगर आपको बंद करना है प्लास्टिक की थलियन तो उसका विकल्प भी उपलाभद्ड़ करवा दीजिए.. दक्षिण दिल्ली में कुरेदान में आग लगा कर पार्दूषण फैलाया जाता है इससे बंद कराईए.. आप का धन्यवाद्‍द!!

One simple question to everybody. What did we use when there was no plastic bag? And you have your answer. The government has no business to suggest alternatives just move ahead and ban the plastic bag/cups/plates and let the people of the country do their bit in finding their suitable alternatives.

If the plastic bag is to be banned then there should be a useful alternative to the ubiquitous plastic bag. What I feel is that there is an immediate need to popularize cloth bags especially among the middle class. Providing cloth and paper bags to vendors at low prices can be definitely a useful solution.
