The number of public holidays in India are 30+ in each state. This is in addition to the weekly offs. We should trim down the number of public holidays in government offices and banks to approx 10 in a year. This will ensure efficiency.

Too many labour laws existing in India having similar requirements for maintaining books and displaying of abstracts. Many provisions became redundant in present IT scenario since they were made in manual era. Many provisions became impractical and even not known to labour dept officers. Worst situation for honest entrepreneurs who want to comply the above legal provisions. There is need to club intent of legislator in one Single Act for easy understanding of employee, employer & labour Dept.

There should be public portal where every citizen can get view of different expenditure made by government. Also, it should also contain details about different tenders awarded to different companies with estimated budget and the responsible company should put detail about different expenses and progress of the project during life cycle or at end of project. This will be helpful to derive different statistics and to improve or cut unnecessary expenses.

Govt own operating expenditure can be reduced by making a policy upon max expenditure that can be incurred by ministers and govt officials while renovation of their bungalows, their air travel bill, petrol diesel and taxi bills, their hotel bills. In many cases govt start incurring expenditure without proper homewok and later on it has to roll back its decisions like in one hydro power project govt expended R.500 Crs and later on it dint get environmental clearance and project has to be stoped
