Manual scavengers are largely illiterate and have no exposure or aptitude for doing business or taking up self employment ventures.  This makes their rehabilitation in alternative occupations very challenging.

\

What are the ways in which the manual scavengers can be gainfully employed in other occupations, so that they do not return to manual scavenging? Participants may share success stories that they may be aware of.

The basic quality of hygiene should start itself from the home. This will result in further Manual Scavenging-Free India. Modern machines should be taken into consideration.

Manual scavenging can be eliminating only by introducing recent waste management technologies, There are lot of robotic machinery by using we can handle the filth and garbage. At the same time there is need of introducing latest sewerage system which would be technologies friendly. We have to educate the people on handling the domestic and industrial waste and also to introduce strict rules to punish the people who are intentionally/ habitually breaking the rules. Regards. Hello sir, I was going through the Ministry of Labour & Employment page and was reading the labour laws, in one of the labour laws link, its still mentioned as "British India" even after 67 yrs of Independence. request you to please have this updated as it shows sheer carelessness and lack of interests by our lawmakers to even check the laws that have been created by them. Link is mentioned below. http://labour.gov.in/upload/uploadfiles/files/ActsandRuleshindi/employeesliabilityact1938.pdf

Sir, My request is to make our Railways accident free.Train drivers should be given adequate rest and strict rules to stop them from working more than fixed hours.we need to implement strict guidelines and safety norms for train drivers. If there is a shortage of locomotive drivers,we should recruit and train them or increase the no. Of posts. Automatic signalling system should be fast tracked to enhance safety. Also safety norms to avoid stampedes in festivals. Regards Rajesh kumar
