In order to equip them to look after their needs, it is necessary to impart skills to them. Most of them are unskilled and this makes their rehabilitation in alternative occupations very challenging.

What are the ways in which beggars/ destitutes can be skilled and gainfully employed so that they do not return to begging?

Participants may share success stories, as they may be aware of.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 18th November, 2014.

How about the following re-assignment of human resources (beggars) ? and club it with a modified version of Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan. 1. Collect all beggars and give them basic grooming such that they will be willing to give up a life of begging and willing to work. 2. Train these people in identifying organic garbage from plastic/inorganic waste. 3. Put them to work in keeping the streets clean, collect and segregate organic and inorganic waste.

Since they are earning enough, they wont migrate to another job. Public awareness should be created to stop encouraging beggars. At least Railway station having a separate police force should not have beggars this was best I can think of, else they will enjoy any public scheme and still beg. Any monotonous approach will fail, so need multiple solutions. Trial and error should be approached by govt instead of usual years long failed public scheme.

Begging shows our collective failure. For rehab following steps may be taken: 1) Opening child rehabilitation centers - to bring poor children involved in begging so that they are not exploited and do not come in conflict with law. Free food, shelter, clothing and education should be given at these centers. 2) Female beggars be given vocational training ( for 6 months) in activities like sewing, hand loom etc and organize them in SHG so that they can start their own business. 3)Public awareness

Helping them to find out work instead of begging. Making arrangement towards their permanent resident. Allowing them to stand on their own leg instead of begging. For this, they should be enlightened with lectures, demonstration of disadvantages of beggary, increasing the chances of their little ones with education etc. Social awareness, showing films, videos in their locality.

Most of NPA's in Nationalized Banks are due to lack of due-deligence mechanisms and skill sets. This deficiency is monetized by consultants for a commission who promote loans for business-people.

whenever we talk about a serious issue we usually talk about the system.. I certainly understand that we are the system..being a part of the system we must analyse ourselves what we are doing.
