In order to equip them to look after their needs, it is necessary to impart skills to them. Most of them are unskilled and this makes their rehabilitation in alternative occupations very challenging.

What are the ways in which beggars/ destitutes can be skilled and gainfully employed so that they do not return to begging?

Participants may share success stories, as they may be aware of.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 18th November, 2014.

Elders can be made to work them at homes as maids & servants. Even car washing, gardening, security, Baby sitting, Cooking are to name a few jobs which are much in demand. They can be officially employed by some registered agency under secured head to give them job opportunities. Only requirement is the will to work. As generally, beggars do not desire to work as they get use to easy way of earning money by begging. They become very good actors so to say. They give u look if u ask them to quit.

Beggars need to be first given safe homes for mental & physical security. They need to be taught skills to earn their leaving with dignity.Children should be made to join school along with learning basic skills to boost their morale, confidence and self esteem. Why we Indians scared to make our children work . In foreign countries ,children are made to work at home and extend helping hands in all activities. This helps to groom them well and prepare them to be independent and fend for themselves.

Alternative Treatment is known to be mostly free of side-effects.Food Suppliments, Alternative therapy, Acupressure, etc has got world of options for having good helath in different age groups. If these beggars can be subjected to natural clinical trials, we can zero down to better combos for good health. Living condition of deprived persons can improve and govt (on PPP model) can most likely patent those potent combinations which can serve mankind and earn money for Nation from world market.

There are so many categories of beggars but worst i saw are old aged people either thrown by their owns or due to other reasons. They are not able to do a job. Hence government should build old age homes for these poor peoples

There's less done for the beggars.Even the society treat them very badly.Untouchability exist in our country.Govt should come up with a new scheme for providing them basic amenities for life , also they need utmost medical assistance. Please create awareness in the society & tell the not to cast off their own people who in-turn become beggars.Trafficked people engage in beggaring too. It's disheartening to see them beg on the road.Hope Govt will look into this matter asap.Life is precious.

in my view this class of beggars is flourishing for many reasons.. one of the main reasons are human trafficking, no particular aim in life, might be there are persons who have due to some financial condition have to beg, but if we have to rehab we must give them opportunity to work normally, we have to organize some kind of shivir where all these beggars have been registered and we ask them what is the reason and how they came here what they want and accordingly and individually

Re: Rest-rooms on National Highways / State Highways. Lakhs of people are travelling every day, on National Highways by their own vehicles. Surprisingly, we do not have rest-rooms beside these Highways. The clean India movement expects Central and State Governments to build such Rest-Rooms beside these Highways. Moreover, Sign-boards indicating the availability thereof must be displayed near kilometer signs of the Highways. This would help ladies in particular and a step in making SWACHH BHARAT.

Educate all children and teenagers particularly and make them aware that begging brings disrespect for individual and country. This way future generations will resort to begging. Make these teenagers aware that India is full of opportunity. A tea vendor became PM in this country. They can also work hard and rise above poverty.

Begging is a social crime.About 10,00.000 poor, destitutes and children have been forced to become part of this social evil. Need is to categorise beggars as per age, amputations, employability and diseases such as leprosy or drug addiction. Able body must be provided employment with Border Roads and children must be sent to special camps where they are trained as skilled citizens.Addicts and amputees will need most patience. And gangs involved in forcing people into slavery must be persecuted.
