Madurai, Kodaikanal and Munnar trip Dec 2013. We started with the temple town of Madurai. We treated ourselves to the local cool drink 'Jugarthanda'. Later we reached Kodaikanal and participated in the trekking organized by Youth Hostels Association of India, Madras division. The atmosphere of Kodai and the path to Munnar was extremely scenic and magical. We ended the journey on a spritual note with a visit to the Dhyanalinga at Isha Yoga Centre Coimbatore on our way back. http://bit.ly/1rwFBkS

Amritsar, Punjab! I'll summarize it in three words "Beautiful Spiritual Patriotic" Start with admiring sheer beauty of The Golden Temple, dive in spiritual serenity of hymns making atmosphere spiritual, praise efforts of people serving thousands of lunches free with unmatchable cleanliness and efficiency. Take glimpses of Indian freedom struggle at Jalian Waala Bagh and finally feel the valour of our armed forces at Wagah Border, where one could see both rivalry and handshakes at same place.

Ratnagiri- Small town in the cost of Maharashtra. Went for a turtle conservation camp. Very recommended for any adventurous traveller. You stay at a local's house which is lovely & hospitable, you eat from a banana leaf on the floor. Food is delicious - jackfruit and coconut mixed together is awesome. The beach is clean & well maintained. The place is like an untouched part. Only go during the winter months as its too hot otherwise. The turtle hatching experience is outstanding.

DakshinaChitra, Chennai, TN. Landmark- MGM dizzie world, Muttukadu.Transport- only rely on buses. share auto is difficult. it closes at 6pm sharp. takes ~1.5 hours. This is no chokhi dhani but the concept is similar. It's not a museum rather, a recreation of traditional living style of the four southern states. You can hang out with friends, family. Great place for couples. Serene, beautiful and genuinely true. It's like exploring a remote south indian village minus the diffulties faced.
