The Ministry of Finance is proposing a national initiative to provide all households in the country with banking services, with particular focus to empower the weaker sections of society, including women, small and marginal farmers and labourers, both urban and rural.

This task seeks inputs to design a Logo, name and tag line for the Finance Ministry's initiative. The last date of submision is 7th August 2014. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

Name : RUPAAY (formed with the three words : rupee, upaay (solution), aay (finance) - keeping in mind that every citizen of the country would connect with the name immediately. Tag Line : Khata Khushi Ka ( Account of Joy) - and can be easily translated in respective languages that give the meaning outright - that enrolling into this is not just creating an account, but an account of joy which is purely a result of savings and finance.

Ek nayi chingari
The basic thought was to create an identity which is minimalistic. Also, it was intentional to have an element which catches their attention and doesn't look too preachy or administrative. Hence, "Jugnu". Not just an insect which is very common in rural India but one which is associated with hope and illumination; it is perfect to trigger the same feeling towards this campaign. The tagline makes it evident that it is a new movement and has the capacity to become big.
