As india has huge barren land & all year solar energy resource,if i was govt.,I gave my best to convert these barren lands into solar energy parks confining at least 10 solar power station (500MW) in each state. I would take contribution from people & NGOs for infrastructure. I would invest in geothermal energy in rajasthan & ladakh. I would also exploit biogas for power generation. Also SAARC electricity grid, nuclear power,Max. use of LED bulb, Ban on old bulbs, equal distribution of energy.

in india around 24% electricity is destroyed in testing process, (1)it is because the bad type of machinery we are using (2) Idea of power genration (3) inexperienced Staff in indian power copration.. if i am in a government i provide special package to buy advanced machinery for all states(2) increases FDI % in power production (3) and making one district as a power hub for his state ex up's power hub is Sonbhadra,(4) encouraging the people to save Energy like Swatch Bharat abhiyan..Jay HIND

We can work on road top solar panels on national highways, flyovers, foot over bridges, roadside footpaths and also over roof of Metro Stations in Delhi & Mumbai. As for our highways, currently India is having more than 92000 Kms. of Highways. As per experts, we get 1000 units or 1KW of energy in a day over 1sq.mt. of area. So, 1KW = 1sq.mt. 1000KW = 1MW = 1000sq.mt. = 1sq.km. 1000MW = 1000sq.km. 92000MW = 92000sq.km. 92000MW of electricity generation is the target of Indian govt.

I would frame a usage limit based upon the domestic, commercial and number of people using. If the usage limit raises, I would send a warning, again if it is raised, severe penalty and power disconnection would be done. Automatically there would be less usage considering the severe penalty. Only those who are affordable to pay the electricity bill and water bill are wasting our resources.

i would stop the use of air conditioners in ATM's (a person stands in an ATM for max to max 15 mins so ac's are of no use in an ATM's) removal of ac's will save the environment as well as electricity of the nation.

Sir i have been to Gujarat after earthquake seen many changes. Solar energy and everywhere was solar energy. This can bring a great change to India if all industries use Solar energy but its very costly, Please reduce the cost of solar plants for industries that can bring a great change in India. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/idealab/huge-thermal-plant-opens-as-solar-industry-grows

If i was the govt. i would insist people to be self reliable (by using solar, biotic and wind sources for generation of energy at-least for lights and fans in their homes and offices) witch would reduce their electricity bills as well as nations electricity use to 1/5 th of now.
