India need more offshore wind farms like Great Gabbard. Sethu samudram can be dropped and a farm can be put up there as the water is shallow, jackets for installation would be cost-effective.Off-coast Gujarat,WB are other locations. The farms can be owned by societies/cooperative banks/share so people directly own them (similar to Copenhagen model). Make a program such that India will meet its enery requirements via only non-renewable resources by 2025.

All railroad station roofs are potential locations for solar photo voltaic panes. Even the current roofing can be replaced with these panels. Power generated can be locally consumed or added to the rail grid with minimal cost.

Need to promote solar cooker, solar lantern for rural India by media advertisement and financial incentives. In urban areas do not see why each and every roof top is not equipped with solar water heaters? High rise buildings and cooperative societies need to be forced to install solar energy center. A common roof top solar generator can replace 50 to 60 electric geysers in individual apartments. The energy savings are enormous.

If I am the government of India then I would bring policies for efficient usage of crude oil and building efficient transport infrastructure for India's development.

Through massive campaign, people should be awaken to the short term and long term benefits which could be obtained by energy conservation for themselves, future generations and the nation at large. The awareness could be brought about through poster campaign and mobile demo labs which will demonstrate easy and user friendly methods of conservation. Electrical and Mechanical Engineers of the country can indeed support this program beyond imagination. I volunteer to contribute as much as needed.

Make the 'solar' energy capture and utilization easy for every household (open to sky houses).

Sir recently something I came across, our Thorium based reactors are operational I hope. I'd encourage greatly manpowering that field sir as it would be a breakthrough. As much as I know, USA and China is also in this race now to get the name as first Thorium water reactor inventor and I'd say India is already ahead in the race. So I'd suggest to speed it up please. 2050 to have 30% of power by Thorium reactor is too slow. We have first reactor 90% ready so I'd suggest to rushing the project sir

Make all government offices run by solar power.. Automatic switch off of lights and ACs in offices of high cadre employees.. This will save a lot of energy and burden of hydro and thermal generations..

I would put floating solar power projects on all dams, resevoirs utilising free of cost surface over 25000 sq.kms of area, across India, to generate 1250 GW power & to save 56 billion cubic metres of water getting evaporated. Hydro power projects will turn into electrical reservoirs & all the water will be available for agricultural use. Patented concept 432/MUM/2014 Aimed at Generating ample quantum of green power & Reducing evaporation losses in lakes, dams, rivers, simultaneously.

Changing to CFL is one more option, but we donot have good CFL disposal policy, every house is using CFL lamps and then throwing it with garbage, this will add up mercury aone of the most hazardous substance to eco system and causes irreversible damage. Please discourage CFL and use LED instead of CFL lamps
