1. Industrial waste and municipal waste dumped or flow towards ganga from origin to final destination should be stopped. 2 Make effluent treatment plant at appropriate locations and treated water or waste should be used for agricultural or construction activities. 3. After implementing treatment plants, the cleaning process of river ganga should be started. 4. Protect ganga using river basin guards like forest guards for forests. 5. As a religious believe people are throwing the flowers in GANGA.This thing cannot be stopped because it can hurt religious sentiments so what we can do is to make a certain area enclosed with some net or a mesh and strictly tell people to use only that place to do such things...After that on regular basis the place should be cleaned properly.

There is only 1 major challenge with the effort of cleaning ganga. The effort should be towards not polluting the ganga in the first place. Is it really so difficult to travel along the shores of ganga and list all the sewage lines that flow into the river? Cant all the city councils / industries who allow untreated sewage to flow into the river be served legal notices to stop that and be given a infrastructure package to help build sewage treating plants? Build a Ganga River police.

9) For upstream and C class towns also let private operators manage sewage treatment and recover cost of sewage treatment from Hotels and commercial establishments. More from expensive hotels less from cheaper hotels and lodges. 10)Storm water drains should not be allowed to mix with sewage drains (carrying treated of untreated effluents). The sewage network should be kept separate from storm water drains like Najafgarh and should not be allowed to fall in the drains.

5) Subsidize Ecoogy conservation in Himalayas with funds from plains. After all Himalayas are source of water and electricity and provide climate control. 6) Provide subsidized gas to Mountain dwellers so that they do not need to cut trees. 7) Encourage plantation of oak trees as it prevents flash foods and keeps soil over and conserves water. 8) Privatize Effluent treatment in Plains. The cost of ETP should be changed to sewage generators. Do as much upstream effluent treatment as possible

1) Receding glaciers ( there could be global and local issues - must be encouraged as a research) 2) River flow interruption and diversion has created vast stretches of almost dry river e.g between Uttar kashi and Tehri), killing the biodiversity. Revisit the environmental concerns properly. 3) Proper Tree plantation Oak ( help conserve water and greenery vs Deodar (causes forest depletion) 4) Restrict tourist traffic and pollution of vehicles at upper reaches of Himalayas.
