The Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) is proposing a national programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The vision of Digital India is centred on three key areas, namely by providing digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen, providing governance & services on demand and digital empowerment of citizens. This task seeks inputs to design a Logo for Digital India initiative. The last date of submission is 1st September 2014. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

My vision of 'Digital India' is that of fast paced growth and improved technology deep rooted uniformly across all parts of India. I have tried to bring out the same through this visual using various elements. Please do vote of you like my concept :)

The Indian map has been represented using digital symbols which signifies the vision of this programme. More 1 and 0 are represented in devanagiri which signifies the fusion of ancient India and modern technology.Moreover it is a fact that the devanagiri script is the most efficient language for computer processing.In the end it is the people who are connected and make digital India possible.

Ideas behind this logo design for DIGITAL INDIA: * Beautifully Designed letter D is changed to look like a mouse and is placed in the center of the country's name * The logo itself is a tablet computer screen displaying the writing "Digital India" and there is another verson with a calkboard slate to show the constract between the past (writing on a slate) and the future that is becoming (Digital India) * The D is a symbol for "digitalisation" and it also completes the name "INDIA"

Design has 4 parts, all colours engross the spirit of nationalism: 1. Main design part- “AND” logic gate (computer circuit) always requires both true inputs (Infrastructure and Governance, government is putting in) to give a true output (Digital empowerment of citizens). Merged ‘D’ and ‘I’ letters make the logo compact and appealing. 2. Digitalized English title 3. Hindi title 4. Tag line clearly defines the purpose and also explains the design.
