Respected sir Sub- Type 1 Diabetes (Diabetes awareness month) I would like to request to highlight the awareness of different types of diabetes. My brother got diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 22 months. Now he is 9.8 yrs old. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disorder which has no cure. It has nothing to do with lifestyle and can happen at any age but mostly in kids. The only treatment is insulin. He has to take 4-5 insulin shots and 4-6 times blood test in a day is necessary to survive for kids/people with type 1 diabetes. We have to deal with it 24/7 without any break which is even more difficult with lack of awareness in the society. Above that it is financially exhausting as the monthly supplies are costly as Type 1 diabetes does not come under disability act and we need to pay from our pockets. Every day prices are increasing for life saving drug insulin. Request you to please adhere this. Thank you.
